God is literally the only explanation for the existence of everything.

Checkmate, atheists!

I think you've got to rephrase this question because it's unclear what you mean by "God".

Maybe you mean a creator, whether this universe needs a creator or not. Maybe the universe is the creator itself and is alive.

No matter how many times that you pose this question or variations of, the burden of proof will always lay with those that make the claim.
So, you have checkmated yourself unless (1) You can confirm which god your talking about. (2) You can prove his existence. (3) You can prove where he came from.

The question isn't actually that simple.

Here's another "simple" way of putting it: Why is there something rather than nothing?

Any answer you could possibly give to this question would have to fall into one of two categories: something, or nothing.

If the answer is a nothing, that's logically contradictory because nothing only refers to an absence, which cannot possibly explain existence.

If your answer is a something then that's logical contradictory because something cannot be the answer to why there's a something. That's entirely circular. BTW god is a "something".

So whichever you choose, it's a logical contradiction. This is what in physics is referred to as a singularity, it's a point where all the laws of math and science break down. It's why we can't go back any further than the big bang.

Oh yeah, went straight for infinite past. Sorry, your logic is flawed. Past cannot be infinite. I will let you figure out why.

instead of saying god is necessary, id just say that the most straight forward way of looking at it, is that it looks like something other than the universe caused the universe to exist, and posit that that something might be God.

Your logic is flawed.  God can not exist

For him to exist you must believe in magic

How do you explain existence?

Existence is a self-evident truth.
All existence is still a self-evident truth.
A self-evident truth is not a simulation, something for nothing, nor is it magic. A self-evident truth can make sense to always exist and while it is neither he nor she.

How can you explain the existence of God?
B.K.
He created himself, obviously.
Your making speculations. Perhaps, God popped into existence and hasn't changed since?

If God is a simple fact of nature, then Atheists are not far from claiming the universe popped into existence from a state of low entropy.

Either argument assumes something existed to cause the universe to exist.

I tend to think God needs to be made of similar stuff as the rest of universe. This might not be the case. However, if two things are completely unrelated how do they interact?

(1) If this true, then the start of existence began with a complex entity (God).
Or
(2) If this is false, then the start of existence began with something simple (energy).

Occam's razor suggests we should believe proposition (2).

The existence of the universe or God doesn't make a lot of sense. Although, I'm still a theist.

Unlike universe, God can actually create himself due to being above the laws of logic.

We aren't explaining God, I was being facetious.

The originating question is not valid, you don't explain existence, existence just is.

You are all asserting your metaphysical beliefs, those whotry to deny this fact are only hiding it, obscuring it, or just doing it badly.  All knowledge is contingent upon metaphysicalpresuppositions, anyone who doesn’t recognize that is simply asserting theirown metaphysics unconsciously, unreflectively, and uncritically, which is whatI define as “just doing it badly”.

Metaphysics is axiomatic, materialism, reductionism, naturalism, physicalism, determinism, atheism and theism, they are allmetaphysical contentions, axiomatic systems of belief rather than evidence-basedsystems of thought.

Contentions about how competing metaphysical systems ofthought require “proof” or “evidence” betrays a total lack of understanding thesubject matter. The fact is, reality isalways going to be ambiguous regarding the questions being raised here, Theism is not logically coercive, it’s a matter offaith, but for those who choose it, it does provide an intellectually satisfyingway of making sense of the broadest possible band of human experience, ofuniting in a single account, the rich and many layered encounter that we havewith a reality that is experienced as full of qualities, values, meanings, andpurposes.
