YFL...Yes I think if a man is delusional enough to belive that they are a woman....
1} they want to identify as a woman/female, for what-ever reason. Belief is matter of degree { a - 360 degrees }

2} men have an X chromosome ergo they technically are half woman from get go,

3} I find trans-woman ---i.e. men who want to identify as woman---  strange indeed.  Most are doing this for reasons you and I do not fully understand.

4} I find trans-men less strange, because we're primarily a man/male oriented { dominant } society of humans globally. 

5} who trans people are attracted too can also vary, ----if my assumptions based on experience--- and if a person feels more attr.acted to the same sex or both, irrespective of trans or not, who are we to judge their desires?

8} we could even say, that, since the y is structurally and systemically disintegrating since its formation ---an aborted X?---   some men could intuitively { somewhere inside } know, they are on the loosing side of evolution or whatever we want to call the unfolding scenario of sex, ergo, diversity.

I got two words. 
Male action figures.

Perhaps race is a social construct that sometimes has as much or more to do with the self identity of an individual than any actual societal expectations?

If a transwoman decide to remove his/her penis is because she knows a potential sexual partner doesn't like a penis but a vagina. It's not about identity.
