Again a lie. They weren’t simply asking Obama where he was from. They were blowing racist dog whistles saying “hey, this black guy can’t possibly be a real American” and he can’t be a legitimate President. Trump played to these racist beliefs and other Republican politicians except for John McCain let it happen

That’s another lie. No one ever asked to see Clarence Thomas’ birth certificate. The Democratic Party is not the Party of the south.
A black woman he worked with testified he sexually harassed her. I believe her. They say Thomas has improperly benefited financially from his position on the Supreme Court and failed to recuse himself from cases where there were obvious conflicts of interest

Thomas was unqualified for the job when nominated by HW Bush. He didn’t have the legal jurisprudence. He was selected simply because he was a black conservative.

Thomas has never written a significant majority opinion on the Supreme Court and he has never asked a question during oral arguments. He is an empty chair.

Keep trying. Keep searching. Maybe you can find an article that supports your original assertion that people claimed Thomas was not a real American.

If you think calling him anti-American is the same as saying he’s not a real American you would be wrong.

First, George Takei is just a private citizen, he doesn’t speak for the Democratic Party.

Two, Thomas’ comment that “the government does not grant human dignity” is a terrible statement. It is every government’s responsibility to defend human dignity.

Keep searching GP. Maybe you’ll find something that works. Maybe you’ll make an intelligent argument. But I doubt it.

To summarize:

Suggesting Obama was not born in America was a racist appeal aimed at gaining support from racist voters. There was no credible argument to make to either ask for his birth certificate or suggest he wasn’t an American citizen. No one ever doubted Obama’s mother was an American citizen so his citizenship was never questionable.

Clarence Thomas never had his citizenship questioned by Democrats. His qualifications to be on the Supreme Court was questioned because of his weak resume at the time and the credible allegations of sexual harassment.
