The truth always comes out, later than sooner, unfortunately but it still does.

AG from MO and LA have prevailed against the government establishing a case with solid evidence that the government worked with social media platforms to suppress free speech of users where COVID and Hunter’s laptop are concerned.

This has been discussed here before, and some of you claimed there was no conspiracy of collusion between the government and social media, well, you have now been proven wrong.

Enjoy that plate of crow.

This is most welcome news. Suddenly in the storm of insanity someone says the obvious. Problem is that it tempts me to stop reading news and pretend things just keep going well.

No overreach or corruption to see in this administration, folks! It was only the last one which did that stuff.

Yes, Republicans believe lies are protected speech. The party of religion and family values believes lies are protected speech.

One of Trump’s chief liars, and head bimbo on FOX News, Kaylie Mcaneney, tells the story. That’s perfect.

FOX News paid out 787 million dollars for one of their lies that was protected speech, until it wasn’t.

This ruling came from Louisiana. This is one of the dumbest areas of the country. We have seen these dummy courts in the past make all kinds of stupid and racist decisions like when the exonerated murders done by the KKK. They will be overturned by smarter judges.

District Judge Terry A. Doughty, was  a Trump appointee

This likely means this judge is a moron.

“In 2021, Doughty issued a nationwide injunction against a federal mandate that health care workers be vaccinated against COVID-19.[14] His opinion includes many false and misleading claims about COVID-19 vaccines, including an incorrect suggestion that vaccines are not useful because booster shots are recommended after six months, a misleading statement that vaccines "do not prevent transmission of the disease", and the falsehood that "the virus has achieved an immune escape from COVID-19 vaccines". Doughty's opinion uncritically cited the views of a doctor known for making false claims about the vaccine.[15][16]”

[IwantRooseveltagain] a misleading statement that vaccines "do not prevent transmission of the disease"
That statement proved quite true.

The immune response was simply not fast enough to prevent transmission, in sharp contrast to vaccine-immunity for many many other viruses (like smallpox).

Whether that is because the vaccine in this case was half-baked, used new techniques that proved to be ineffective, or covid just replicated too fast for the human body I do not know; but it's a fact and all the people (including CNN) who repeated misinformation because of "expertise" were exposed for their imperfect epistemology.

No, that’s not true. The vaccine was effective in preventing the transmission of a virulent level of the disease. It wasn’t 100% effective but only an idiot would think that is required.

“Getting a COVID-19 vaccine reduces the risk of infection with the COVID-19 virus and slows the spread of COVID-19. Also, vaccination can prevent severe illness from COVID-19. But misinformation continues to circulate about COVID-19 vaccines and ways to prevent infection with the COVID-19 virus”

It wasn’t 100% effective
So it didn't 100% stop the transmission of the virus?
Dang.

Wonder why they said for over a year that it 100% did?

If you have the vaccine, you will not get severely ill from COVID. It’s preventing transmission to the recipient of the virus.

So it didn't 100% stop the transmission of the virus?
but only an idiot would think that is required.(to be considered effective)
No vaccine is 100% effective genius

The pandemic is over because of the vaccine genius. Seems pretty effective by that measure, doesn’t it?

The pandemic is over because of the vaccine...

Since the mandates are over, guess they are not as effective now as they once were when they said the mandates were necessary.

Anything the government does is effective of course.

Since the mandates are over
There was never a widespread government mandate to get the vaccine. The military and healthcare workers were a small exception.

“But on May 11, those requirements will end for federal workers, international travelers, contractors, Head Start employees and health care workers at many hospitals.“

Airline pilots were encouraged by their employers using financial incentives to get the vaccine. The ones who didn’t  got very sick and were out of work for weeks.
That was their choice. The airlines didn’t even deduct from their sick time which was very generous on their part.

Many of the dummies who didn’t get vaccinated once it was available are dead.

“Immunity acquired from a Covid infection is as protective as vaccination against severe illness and death, study finds”

Gee, that’s brilliant, so if you didn’t die from getting infected you are good to go.

And fuck all the healthcare workers who had to work 16 hour shifts for months to keep all those idiots alive because of their own stupidity.

[IwantRooseveltagain] but only an idiot would think that is required.(to be considered effective)
Since a single viral particle is enough to infect another organism preventing significant replication is required to say the vaccine prevents transmission.

Contrast this to say someone who recovered from covid. They stopped transmitting it.

Hey there was a lot of praying going on too. Also the alignment of the sun and planets?

The pandemic ended in countries where no vaccine was distributed. The victor (as always) is the advanced immune system that comes standard. The vaccine, if it was as good as previous vaccines; would have sped that victory to such a degree that there were populations who weren't infected. That never happened. How much it helped is a matter of academic interest. It was oversold and many people's statements were proven false.

Not necessarily. There are studies that said significant asymptomatic transmission happened with people who previously recovered from Covid, vaccinated or not. There's no magic "flu bullet"

"pretty please can we violate the bill or rights?"

I'm sure there were edge and transition periods, but if everybody was typhoid mary it wouldn't have stopped. Well actually if we were all typhoid mary we wouldn't have any symptoms... ok maybe that's what happened. That hypothesis would require the testing to either be positive constantly or to be ineffective on the latest variants.

I actually got a little depressed when Pool deadpan listed the constitutional violations of the current administration in the order of the bill of rights.

This is the new normal.

FINE, let them appeal. Even the judge who heard the case and other experts are saying the plaintiffs will prevail on appeal; and the P’s are prepared to take this to SCOTUS.

Yemen, Papa New Guinea.

Remember it's about whether the pandemic ended not somebody's questionable estimate of excess deaths.

I am making a serious point. Preceding the inevitable does not prove causation. People have done the rain dance for thousands of years, and it always rains... eventually.

The question is do you believe rain dances cause it to rain AND Do you believe praying caused the Covid pandemic to subside.
