Ya genius, the goal is 2% inflation all the time. Because if prices didn’t go up we could have deflation which would kill the economy and GDP growth.
Why you ask? Because why buy something today if it will be cheaper tomorrow? Consumer spending is 70% of GDP in this country. Without inflation, or worse deflation, the economy would grind to a halt.
How would you feel if your home value kept declining every year? Not too good?

We just finished teaching the book "Divergent" to our 10th graders and had them write essays about why a society divided into factions are bad and how this creates a dystopia...and then I come here to get reminded of all the idiots that want to create that Dystopia in America today....
It's amazing how many Democrats rarely read books but consider their corporate media indoctrination to pass for actual "education"

Just curious— could a student have challenged that premise if well argued? I know, it would be a tall order especially for a teen, but I wince at the thought of students having to accept a certain premise as true uncritically…

Of course they can. The prompt is worded as such "Describe the benefits and drawbacks to having a society built with factions where you can ONLY belong to one faction to participate in society"
Many students discussed a sense of belonging and importance as a benefit; but ultimately, everyone agreed with the book's conclusion (I also showed the movie), that everyone is "divergent" and needs the flexibility to choose multiple associations in order to prevent civil war.

Collectively all those outlets have a majority of staff and reporters that worked in political offices. Did you hear what happened to Vice?
