It's starting to happen fortunately. For the most part the right has decided there is stuff that the left does which is too ethical to do but they have been gloves off lately with things such as attacking corporations. It's why corporations have been doing all the woke shit, but fortunately these corporations are losing things like tax incentives due to republican governors not tolerating anything less than political neutrality.

No, I'm talking about the violations of the constitution Lincoln did to win the war he started.
1.) States obviously had a right to leave the union, he didn't care. He deployed the army against domestic political enemies.
2.) Newspapers were treading on the line on reporting on troop movements for the enemy, he censored them.
3.) Supreme court justices were going to rule against his efforts, he put them under house arrest.
All this is forgiven by posterity because in the end there was a just cause.
Governments, laws, and constitutions are not sacred. Morality is sacred. Liberty is truest morality. Social contracts are void between those who break them and those who didn't.
It's possible the republic would be restored, it's possible Trump would try to make himself some kind of king; but he would fail because his defenders are not his worshipers despite the propaganda you've ingested.

The only chance to avoid full civil war is a fizzled cultural revolution ASAP or peaceful divorce. Further violence is unavoidable, but it could be minimized by restoring the balance of fear.
Pardon all Jan 6 people, pay them restitution using funds diverted from the FBI, arrest 10,000 people associated with the CHAZ and another 20,000 associated with the general summer of love rioting. Arrest and charge Hilary Clinton, Joe Biden, and Obama. Try them with juries from West Virginia, rural Texas, and Florida. Investigate everyone in the DOJ 3 layers down in hierarchy and charge them with the same abandon as Trump associates (i.e. Rodger Stone)
There are left-tribers reading that and losing their shit, but that is commiserate treatment. It is correction from the unequal application of the law that has already occurred.
That is how far we are just from balance, and to be honest you need to go a bit farther than balance to discourage escalation.
Is anyone ever going to argue he shouldn't be indicted because he DIDN'T DO CRIMES, or is it really just because of who he is? That's an honest question. Not a single person I've seen on the conservative side, either here or in the media, has said "He's innocent of this crime." I mean if reports are to be believed, it's 30 criminal counts of fraud. It seems exclusively based on "Well I like him, so he should not be held accountable."

It's a made up crime in a classic damned if you do damned if you don't situation. Once you see government in the wild you understand that there are an enormous number of laws that contradict each other or could easily be interpreted in absurd ways. There are also laws which are designed to never be enforced until the state wants to wreck your day: Speed limits, J-walking, most county regulations.

That might be some of it. There have been suggestions when they didn't control the federal government that California wanted to leave. They don't like the idea now because they are in control. If they lose control they'll be all for it, and since right-tribe is more principled that is when it might actually happen.
