Instead they are focused on Hunter Biden.

Americans were so wise to vote Republican!

I heard they would redo the Jan 6 hearings and hold Pelosi accountable for opening the doors, waving off the police, and hiring a film crew, putting democracy at risk for a midterm photo op.... after all, that's a proven path for success with today's voter. Spooky scary hearings.....

Imagine the people who believed that the Republicans were going to end inflation. Must be the same people who believed Trump would build the wall and Mexico would pay for it.

PT Barnum said it best - there’s a Republican born every minute.

You're right. Because the people that won were mostly the diet democrats who like the destroyed economy where it is so they can get more fat checks from billionaires.

Ok, again, the worst  economies in your lifetime happened under Republicans.

Reagan, Bush and Trump all had unemployment over 10% and deep recessions that their policies and incompetence triggered

Biden's economy is the worst our country has had in my lifetime. And Trump's and Bush's were definitely better. Than Obama's and Biden's.

That’s insane.

Bush had 10% unemployment. Banks went out of business in droves. The government had to bailout the banks and the economy. Bush saw a net loss of jobs. Credit seized up, banks wouldn’t even lend to other banks.

Trump had 16% unemployment. The government had to spend trillions to keep businesses and families from going bankrupt. Trump never cracked 3% annual GDP growth.

Correct. As long as the economy is good for the donor class (and the Dems made sure that happened with the lockdowns and subsidies) the politicians get to stay in power because the lobbies control what the public is allowed to care about.

I fully expect the GOP to copy what the Dems did to distract voters.

Trump never cracked 3% annual GDP growth.
He also never had 3 consecutive quarters of negative GDP.

If you are suggesting Biden did you would be wrong. 3rd quarter of 2022 was up 2.6.

Trump’s negative GDP in both the 1st and 2nd quarters of 2020 were much worse than Biden’s first two quarters of 2022.

Oh, plus a million Americans died because Trump botched the initial response to Covid.

Again you cite OPINION columns. Opinion is not news. It’s not information. It’s confirmation (bias) only.

An article that says people “feel” like the economy is bad or good is not useful. People are stupid and easily manipulated. To figure out the economy you must look at the numbers - Unemployment, GDP growth, job creation, business starts and failures, foreclosures, debt and savings. Yes inflation is high, that’s what happens when everyone has a job and supply is low. Republicans have no ideas or plans to address inflation. They are focused on Hunter Biden.

You can only hope. But that’s what makes you a despicable person.

You also predicted a red wave this past election. Of course you were wrong.

Pretty sure your girlfriend Pelosi got voted out.
Since Dems are in control of the Senate, expect the House to do more of the same wall to wall investigations like Pelosi did to get votes from low educated sheep.

Well, there are basically only 2 ways to run the economy:

1) Low taxes and low budget spending

This is basically when government only uses tax money to fund military and government, and protect basic rights. But without interfering in economy. Instead, letting free market to regulate itself. Taxes are kept as low as possible, and spending is kept equally low as taxes.

2) High taxes and high spending

High taxes is more of a Communist approach to the economy where government spends a lot of money on helping small buisnesses and poor individuals, also providing healthcare.

Its important to note that in both systems, money collected from taxes must be slightly greater than budget expenses.

Otherwise, you are forced to go into debt or print money, which is what the US has been doing for decades.

Both 1 and 2 have seen examples of historical success.

But 2 carries certain risk of government ruining the economy if government is stupid, so to most governments I would recommend 1.

1 has its own problems of overuse of resources and destroying nature and polluting the air by free market, but it is something the government can regulate.

The U.S. economy improved more during President Joe Biden’s first year in office than in the first 12 months of any other president in the past 50 years.
Gross domestic product (GDP) growth in 2021 reached 5.7%—the highest annual growth since 1984—after rebounding from a decrease of 3.4% in 2020.

That time when Trump had a 33% growth in the GDP:
On an annualized basis, so really just 8.25 for the 3rd quarter.

“The stimulus programs that provided much of the economic lift last quarter have expired or are expiring”

So Trump’s “GDP Growth” was all stimulus from government spending. Thanks Democrats.
