According to CNN:

As Donald Trump inches closer to launching another presidential run after the midterm election, Justice Department officials have discussed whether a Trump candidacy would create the need for a special counsel to oversee two sprawling federal investigations related to the former president, sources familiar with the matter tell CNN.

The Justice Department is also staffing up its investigations with experienced prosecutors so it’s ready for any decisions after the midterms, including the potential unprecedented move of indicting a former president. Top aides to Trump have been eyeing the third week of November as an ideal launch point for his campaign, with two sources telling CNN on Friday morning that the team has specifically discussed November 14.

Special investigations into political opponents? Indicting the opposition? This isn't democracy. This is tyranny. Biden is officially a dictator.

  • Are there any facts between "CNN says Justice Department officials have discussed " and "Biden to appoint" or is all that in-between just happening in your imagination?
Let's lay out your logic syllogistically:

P:  A said B
C:  Therefore, Biden is offically a dictator

  • This dynamic essentially dooms the Republican Party to Trumpism for the rest of Trump's life.  So long as Trump is running or likely to run, he can claim that any investigation into his many, many criminal activities is tyranny.  Therefore, Trump's best protection against investigation is to run for President.  Therefore, it doesn't matter if the entire Republican opposes, he will run for President in 2024.  If DeSantis or some other candidate beats him in the primary, he will form a MAGA party and run as an Independent.  If he loses in 2024 he will run in 2028.  There's no downside for Trump to keep running and any downside for the GOP is not a factor for Trump

Trump won't run without a realistic chance of winning. It why his third party attempts at running have always lasted like 2 weeks before he dropped out.

But just as after Jan. 6, we’re starting to see the Trump rebound effect. Look no further than the whiplash from Trump insider JASON MILLER. Earlier this week he told the AP he was advising Trump to postpone his planned Tuesday campaign announcement until after the Georgia runoff. But on Friday, speaking on STEVE BANNON’s podcast, Miller aired zero qualms about the forthcoming launch.

“President Trump is going to announce on Tuesday that he's running for president, and it's going to be a very professional, very buttoned-up announcement,” Miller said.

I'm not seeing the issue here. Trump is currently under federal investigation. Unless it is the assertion that being a presidential candidate makes you immune to federal investigation, it seems that given it is an investigation into a presidential candidate, the investigation would have to proceed under the authority of a special counsel to avoid appearances of conflicts of interest.

It's more than just discussions. This is actually being seriously considered by Biden. This only happens in countries like Venezuela. Not in Republics and Democracies.

  • So....that's a no, then.  No facts support your claim between "A said B said C"and "the Chief Executive has so ordered."  Also known as pure fantasy.
I thought CNN was a factual news outlet for you.
  • Nope.  As I frequently state on this site, I gave up on CNN when they ran the death of Michael Jackson as a wall-to-wall breaking news story for 12 straight weeks.
    • Also. their website uses an extremely creepy amount of CPU.  What the fuck are all those thread up to?
Is it a partisan rag now that it is revealing the totalitarianism of the Biden Administration?
  • Only a QAnon occultist would consider the Biden Adminstration totalitarian.
This only happens in countries like Venezuela. Not in Republics and Democracies.
  • False.  Nixon would have been correctly, democratically prosecuted if Ford had not pardoned him.
  • France has convicted two ex-Presidents of crimes
  • Spain sentenced one ex-President to 9 years in jail
  • Korea sentenced one ex-President to 15 years in jail
  • Italy and Taiwan have convicted former chief executives
  • There's many more uundemocratically convicted and jailed then democratically but any healthy democracy has to be willing to say that no person is above the law and even ex-presidents should be tried and convicted when they commit crimes.
    • Countries like Venezuala are more often guilty of protecting high ranking officials from criminal conviction.
    • Trump has publicly confessed to a number of felonies and has publicly bragged that American Democracy is not courageous enough to convict him for these.
As Trump never ever would, Biden has distanced himself from investigations into Trump.  When the National Archives asked Biden how to proceed with Trump's theft of America's top secrets, Biden told them to do as they saw fit.  Merrick Garland made a point of keeping the White House in the dark about the Mar-a-Lago raid and Biden applauded him for it (Trump would have fired any such AG on the spot).  By any measure, Biden is making a point of staying out of it.  If there's a special prosecutor, it will be because the Justice Dept asked for it, not because the President did (as Trump did unconstitutionally with John Durham).

You are claiming oppression because Trump tells you to claim oppression.  When you stop following dear leader's commands you will discover that rationally, democratically, prosecuting Trump is good for democracy, even if it is bad optics to the FOX News followers.

When the person being attacked is a political outsider and you control the entire political and legal machinery it looks suspicious to go after them. Similar things had occurred with Putin's opponents

  • For students of history, no imagination is required.  During the 3-day purge now remembered as the NIght of the Long Knives, Hitler assasinated the ex-Chancellor, Eric Rohm and about 1000  others, mostly leaders representing the original NAZI party.
  • Trump is not an emerging political rival but a twice defeated poltical has-been with the power to hold the Republican party hostage but little influence outside of the GOP.  Democrats hate Trump but they don't want to supress him- Trump has proved himself an existential threat to the GOP.  Poltically, Democrats would sooner run against Trump in 2024 than any other GOP candidate.
  • Like Trump, Hitler attempted an incompetent coup and failed.  The Weimar Republic’s mistake was not prosecuting Hitler- their mistake was not executing Hitler for treason.

That’s a lie. Joe Biden does not control the “legal machinery”, such as the Justice Department, the FBI, the Attorneys General.

Trump tried to do that as President and Bill Barr was willing to bend the rules a little until he resigned in disgrace. The FBI resisted Trump’s meddling

Mr. Kelly, who was chief of staff from July 2017 through the end of 2018, said in response to questions from The New York Times that Mr. Trump’s demands were part of a broader pattern of him trying to use the Justice Department and his authority as president against people who had been critical of him,

While in office, President Donald J. Trump repeatedly told John F. Kelly, his second White House chief of staff, that he wanted a number of his perceived political enemies to be investigated by the Internal Revenue Service, Mr. Kelly said.

Mr. Kelly said that among those Mr. Trump said “we ought to investigate” and “get the I.R.S. on” were the former F.B.I. director James B. Comey and his deputy, Andrew G. McCabe. His account of Mr. Trump’s desires to use the I.R.S. against his foes comes after the revelation by The Times this summer that Mr. Comey and Mr. McCabe had both been selected for a rare and highly intrusive audit by the tax agency in the years after Mr. Kelly left the White House.

Mr. Kelly said that along with Mr. Comey and Mr. McCabe, Mr. Trump discussed using the I.R.S. and the Justice Department to investigate the former C.I.A. director John O. Brennan; Hillary Clinton; Jeff Bezos, the founder of Amazon and the owner of The Washington Post, whose coverage often angered Mr. Trump; Peter Strzok, the lead F.B.I. agent on the Russia investigation; and Lisa Page, an F.B.I. official who exchanged text messages with Mr. Strzok that were critical of Mr. Trump.

Now this is something real, not made up. Unless you don’t believe John Kelly, Trump’s former chief of staff and a former Marine Corps General

Special investigations into political opponents? Indicting the opposition? This isn't democracy. This is tyranny. Biden is officially a dictator.
The absurdity of this thread highlights how it is possible that MAGA is a real thing, and why America is so fucked.

As the article referenced made clear, the proposal of a special counsel was to oversee “two sprawling investigations”, as in two investigations already well underway. Nothing about this suggests a “special investigation”, only special oversight of those investigations since they would now be conducted on a presidential candidate. This is clearly an attempt to avoid the appearance of political bias.

You also assert, unsurprisingly without any evidence, that Biden is somehow behind this despite the fact that he’s made clear since the campaign (and unlike Trump) that the justice department is to be run independent from the White House and nothing we have seen since then has suggested the reality is anything else.

And as far as “indicting the opposition”, Trump is very clearly guilty of stealing classified documents and obstructing that investigation. To not indict him would he highly political, as the only plausible explanation would be because he’s a politician.

Everything I just said is common sense. If it was the Trump justice department reacting to Obama walking away with classified documents and then declaring his candidacy it would suddenly be clear to you.

But since you feel that way, I look forward to your advocacy in the future with regards to states whose republicans legislators refuse to allow any mail in ballots received before Election Day be processed and instead sit on them which is why it takes so long to count them.

The only "gestapo" here is you, via a  puppeteer Trumpsteer tactic  to  create a "Gestapo" false narrative headline.

Trumpet is sick-in-head as are all his trumpeteer cultist puppets playing politicaly narrow { immature } mind games

I have a final solution, that begins with involvement a 90% of humanities re-education of what sustains biologic life on Earth.

Religion = the more narrow personal integrity

Spirituality = omni-consideration of personal and global integrity, whose 1st priority is the ecologically sustain-ability of  biologic life on Earth.

We need relevant data put into computers to pop out relevant scenarios, that, do not lead to end of human life on Earth. Ex clean air, clean water, populations concerns for the amount of energy needed to sustain a desired or minimally reason-able standard of living on Earth.

The ideal is like an octahedron shape <> fat in middle average standard of living, with very few at the top end and very few at the bottom end.

Humanity is eating away at its resources with little concern for the limits, size of population, standard of living, and countless conflicts that tend toward  nuclear annillihation { oblivion } as our final solution, instead of a reason-able standard living for all as a minimized utopia.
