That being said, she's been made into this superhuman caricature that goes beyond her actual shortcomings. When she tweeted an admittedly dumb thing about lasers from the air supposedly causing a wildfire (and to be fair, the technology isn't as farfetched today as it used to be), the media spun it into "Jewish space lasers" out of whole cloth despite no mention whatsoever of Jews. Seeing as they lied about that detail, I can only imagine how many journalistic "embellishments" inform the left's assessment of her.
"No mention whatsoever of Jews" is not really accurate, conspiracy theories are all about what's implied, especially when you are using anti-semitic tropes.  In the post she raised conspiracy suspicians by talking about who may have built and used the space lasers by referencing who stood to benefit from it, she named the Rothschilds, the wealthy Jewish banking family frequently referred to in anti-Semitic conspiracy theories.

It wasn't Journalists that embellished it, #JewishSpaceLasers began trending on Twitter almost immediately, and she did in fact imply the Rothschilds were behind it.  If you take a serious look at what she has said and done, it's not a "superhuman caricature that goes beyond her actual shortcomings", it's superhuman shortcomings that brought her all the media attention. Unfortunately, it's conspircy theory showmanship that makes you prominent in the Trump bases eyes, she's over the top and the sad fact is, as with all of the outragious showmanship, it's what raises money and gets you media attention.

I'm old enough to remember when it was mostly about policy, but that was in the pre-Trump era, before half the country opted for reality TV politics.

You really have to admire the extreme schadenfreude take on politics today. The remarkably quick regression from hundreds of years of developed enlightened thinking is a case study of the exact society Hobbes predicted in the natural state.

The downward spiral is fascinating like a carnival ride. The excuses for the chest pounding and demonization are legion.  It is a perfect example of a rapid regression into the natural society Hobbes warned us all about.

Lol. Are we really getting to this level of nonsense? I see zero reason to care about some politician’s marriage. If you’re going to criticize, at least give an important criticism. This is frivolous.

The only cure for schadenfreude politics today is to equalize the suffering of everyone. Hopefully the predicted inflationary recession will be enough to do the trick. If not, then a nuclear holocaust over some obscure bufferstate 10,000 miles away will do.

That should be the end of the aberrant population of people whose lives are so purposeless, empty, and worry free that they have enough spare time to rejoice in the destruction of someone else's life. Like the Romans watching the Lions before their society collapsed.

I haven't yet seen evidence that MTG has done anything wrong,
I’m not suggesting infidelity or anything like that. She’s just a nut who got divorced for being a lunatic including being a religious nut, which is kind of ironic considering God hate’s divorce.  Her moral failing would be her many examples of being a troll to gays, liberals, trans, immigrants etc…

this will hold true no matter what
That’s not true. Just MAGA whack jobs.

Jesus himself would be made into Satan if he had an (R) next to his name.
It’s safe to say Jesus wouldn’t not demagogue gays, immigrants, Muslims, refugees, trans, blacks, etc… Jesus had long hair and wore sandals. Republicans would hate him.

If so, that necessarily excludes anyone who isn't a Christian, as non-Christians reject by default the most important Christian value: turning to God in repentance and accepting the gift of salvation offered by Jesus Christ,
No, that’s ridiculous. Do you think only Christians can act in a way that reflects the teachings of Jesus? I doubt Jesus believed the most important part of being a follower was accepting his salvation.

And given that you probably do not identify as being Christian, it's laughable that you think you are qualified to define what true Christian values are.
I’m an Atheist. And I can learn about Christian religion as well as any other literate person.

Again, if Christians must submit to the government without regard for who their leaders are, then it follows that Christians are not obliged to only support Christian or even particularly moral leaders.
No, that’s not true. While they have to obey whomever is in power, they do not have to vote for that person.

Not that much of an embellishment. She named the Rothschild Inc, banking firm twice in the tweet. She’s not blaming the Jews, she just asking questions! She also said “she reads a lot”

The very Christian MJT is getting divorced even though god hate’s divorce. This is blatant hypocrisy.

She’s another cafeteria Christian, picking and choosing.

The Rothschilds are such a ubiquitous conspiracy theorist trope that I'm sure not everyone who mentions them even knows that they're Jewish. If you simply hear from some guy on YouTube that these nebulous Rothschilds are controlling everything, then you'll likely parrot the talking point with or without knowledge of who exactly the Rothschilds are. I can absolutely envision MTG doing this.
The same with George Soros (his name doesn't exactly scream "Jew") and whoever else.

You can’t be serious.

To suggest that the only way or best way to scapegoat Jews is with the words Jew or Jewish is nonsense. You are quickly losing credibility as a sensible, serious Americans citizen.

Sure. But to scapegoat Jews, you must have the Jewish race in mind when you're doing your scapegoating. Hating a particular guy who you may or may not know to be Jewish is not the same. Mentioning the Rothschilds or George Soros is not, by itself, proof of antisemitism. And, sure, in a way you might be echoing somebody else's antisemitism. But it's not your own.

But do you know who definitely does have Jews in mind? Liberals who denounce AIPAC as controlling American politics. They're referring to an expressly Jewish organization, united in the aim of advancing expressly Jewish interests.

Saying AIPAC is a more well known Jewish reference than Rothschild or Soros is laughable. Most voters have no idea what AIPAC stands for but those 2 famous Jews are as well known to ordinary Americans as the Kardashians. And this is all about trolling the American people.

Of course you are referring to comment by an “infamous” member of the squad. Who republicans have implied may be a terrorist and should go back to her own country.

The simple question everyone should be asking is, “Is Germany better off after they got rid of the Jews?”

Germany is the largest economy in the European Union. Since 2013, the EU has consisted of 28 member states and the euro is the official tender in 19 of them. Germany contributes about 20% to the EU budget.”

Should the rest of the world follow their example?

Most people didn't know Trump had a Jewish family, so you can't blame Trump haters for being "anti-Jewish"

I guess you could make a broad generalization that most haters are pretty ignorant of reality.

Most people know Trumps father and grandfather were Germans. Nazism is in Trump’s DNA. It shows in his salute to the crowds. Hail MAGA.

They're about equally well known. In the minds of liberals, AIPAC is up there with the NRA.

But my point is, a liberal Congressperson who criticized AIPAC would not get CNN pundits repeating claims that he/she was screeching nonsense about "the Jewish lobby". This, of course, would be equivalent to how MTG was treated. It was patently unfair and reflected a double standard in how journalists talk about Democrat vs. Republican politicians.

The reason the Rothschilds are a common target for conspiracy theories is they are Jews, not bankers but JEWISH bankers.
That was probably what kickstarted the whole conspiracy theory in the first place. But that says nothing about the motives of people who are unaware of the Rothschilds' Jewishness.
In the case of George Soros, I've heard people accuse him of being involved in the Hitler Youth as a child (which a lot of European kids at that time did, including a former Pope, but whatever). Seeing as how Jewish kids ended up with a very different "involvement", this is clearly impossible and it suggests that many, many George Soros haters are unaware of his actual background.

Have you done an analysis of these two events or are you just saying your gut tells you the MSM spent more time on the Jewish laser comment? Does this discrepancy in talk include right wing media?

And this is an important political issue somehow? I don’t know about you, when it comes to politicians I don’t care about their personal lives. I care only for two questions:

  • What are this politicians policies?
  • How corrupt is this politician?
Again, anything else is frivolous and to use it as some kind of ad hom or deflection is nonsensical. You can cry about “me no like this person” all you want, but all it does is make you look foolish and obsessed.

I don't suppose you invoke Hobbes because his recommended solution to the natural state is that we all commit to mindless obediance of an "unaccountable sovereign".

As opposed to the accountability inherent in the democratic process and our Constitution, you know, that system you guys want to overhtrow so you can have your unaccountable autocrat.
