600lbs is a tad on the big side, doesn't matter what colour you are.

For sure, certain afro-ethnic sub-groups do have a genetic predisposition for big arses.

But to be fair, so do a lot of Caucasians. (Gender neutral)

Pop into town and sit on a bench with a coffee and a bun and watch people go by.

And you will see that they come in a staggering array of genetically modified shapes and sizes.

Knock knees and bowlegs are prime examples of evolutionary diversity.

But just one bun and make sure you walk.

So for sure, some people a naturally big.

And then some just don't realise that dinners over.

BMI. Body Mass Index

BMF. Big Mother Fucker
But just one bun and make sure you walk will never be the new norm.

Do you have to think of your mother even past dinner?

My dear departed Mum.

Unerasable data.

Taught me,

To eat sensibly,

And healthily,

And to play,

Enthusiastically.

Information learned,

Information,

Never forgotten.

However, people are going to be miserable being 600 lbs and watching tv all day. Being that helpless and immobile is soul-destroying.
There are people out there who love being waited on hand and foot. To them being immobile isn't soul crushing but the best luxury in life.
Who.

Show me them.

I don't see anything "completely wrong".

For example, the healthy BMI for Asians is only off at the top end by 2 points. That's not "completely wrong" in any common sense of that phrase.

I agree with everything else you wrote.

Here's one example:

From history we have:
Egyptian Pharaohs
Roman Caesars
Arabian Royalty
English Upper Crust
The Un family in North Korea
Chinese Emperors

All groups who had their entire work life done by someone else. Sure, they would walk around and do activities, but most of the time someone else would do everything for them. In the case of Arabian, Roman, Egyptian and Chinese royalty, they would have people carry them around on a sofa bed with a shaded awning so they wouldn't feel the heat of the sun or have to walk anywhere. And when these people wanted something, someone else went to the store to get it for them. They would even have people bathe them, dress them, do their nails and other personal hygiene, make their beds, etc.

At one point in time, this was considered the epitome of wealth and luxury, not having to do anything and have people carry you around when you go out.

Do I, personally, think this is good? No. I prefer to do things myself. But that doesn't mean that is the norm for everybody. It also doesn't mean these lifestyles are healthy. If very little exercise is involved, then it could be very unhealthy.

None of these people are 600 lbs slobs incapable of basic human activity.

There's a difference between choosing to be waited on (i.e. various royals and that strange lady you cited), and having to be waited on (i.e. being 600 lbs).

I think the difference is meaningful because humans are designed to do things. When you're incapable of that, when you're wasting away doing nothing, your mind starts eating you alive because you're not self-actualizing.

the BMI overestimates fatness and health risks for Black people. Meanwhile, according to the World Health Organization, the BMI underestimates health risks for Asian communities,
This is true.  But it doesn't necessarily negate the fact that most people are fat.  This may apply in borderline cases, but even if you subtract 2 BMI from someone who is obese, they're still obese or overweight.

What good are these studies when they put both Blacks and Asians at high risk by over and under estimating their condition?

People put themselves at high risk, by adopting unhealthy lifestyles.

BMI is simply a method of estimating.

The clue is in the word ESTIMATE.

As I clearly stated, people with unhealthy lifestyles put themselves at high risk.

And as I also clearly stated, an estimate is an estimate.

Hence the word ESTIMATE.

Throw yourself of a cliff and it's your fault.

As I stated no one is putting Blacks and Asians at risk. People with high-risk lifestyles put themselves at risk.

A BMI estimate will not put anyone at risk who is already not at risk or already a self-inflicted risk.

Yours is a nanny-state argument, whereby people expect not to be held responsible for problems of their own making.

ARGH...I've got Type 2 diabetes

So, blame the estimator.

It's not your fault for sitting on your arse all day, stuffing your face with unhealthy rubbish.

Fat people die before skinny people. That's all that matters. Quit bitching people you hate die before you. It makes you look stupid.

@Poly

That is a generalisation, not taking into account a whole raft of life ending scenarios.

Statistically you are more likely to die from breast cancer or other cancers.

Though the effects of an unhealthy lifestyle will undoubtedly impact on your wellbeing as you age.

Nonetheless, those who make it into old age are more likely to die from Alzheimer's and /or dementia related issues.

It is embarrassing for one of the most scientifically, technologically and medicinally advanced nations in the world to base advice on how to prevent one of the leading causes of poor health and premature death (obesity) on a 200-year-old numerical hack developed by a mathematician who was not even an expert in what little was known about the human body back then.

Belief in supernatural GODS is also an intellectual embarrassment.

But millions still use it as a coping strategy.

And embarrassingly too, millions of people still haven't learned that lolling about gorging themselves to near death is not a sensible thing to do.

Don't blame Mr Quetelet.

That's right all the fat people in the world are also theists. Another reason to be atheist you'll never ever, ever, ever be fat there's not a single fat atheist on the planet.

Sadly, when people live in a free society, and are free to choose anything, they choose the tastiest foods.

Man is still a very reactive and instinctual creature.

Jesus gave Christians a diet that would have kept them  healthy. But they ignored Jesus and find themselves in
this predicament.

John 6:53 Jesus said to them, “Very truly I tell you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you. 54 Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise them up at the last day. 55 For my flesh is real food and my blood is real drink.

I've never suggested a link between obesity and deism.

You just made that one up.

People who relabelled as Christians would have had the same diet afterwards as before.

And GOD knows what John was on about. One assumes that it was metaphorical.

For sure, instinct still compels some to eat for a rainy day.

Taste is about what we add to food to make it tasty.

So healthy food can be made just as tasty as less healthy food.

I would suggest that we develop habitual eating and so become reluctant to change.
