Majority of doctors believe in god. I got a crew of doctor buddies these days and they are definitely smart folk. I think the autistic are more likely to be atheist.

To win a Nobel prize must surely take an absolute dedication to the material. Arguably these are all stunted individuals.

No man ever gave it to Marie Curie like she needed to scream the name of God because she was an ugly ass bitch and she smelled funny.

Christians worldwide are called to observe penance and develop a closer relationship with Jesus Christ during the Lenten season. Self-reflection and repentance, key pillars of Lent, are tools of atonement for past sins and are innate to the moral teachings of Christ. It's difficult to imagine a true Christian who wouldn't welcome the opportunity for forgiveness. In contrast, former President Donald Trump has repeatedly said he has never asked God for forgiveness—a foremost doctrine of Christianity—and has questioned his need to do so if no sins were committed.
This broaches the question: Was Donald Trump America's first atheist president?

Well, he did have 5 kids with 3 different women.

More proof that Atheists are smart. A bishop has declared that a central Massachusetts school "may no longer identify itself as Catholic" because it refuses to remove Black Lives Matter and Pride flags it began flying on campus last year.
Arguing that the flags "embody specific agendas and ideologies (that) contradict Catholic social and moral teaching," Bishop Robert McManus of the Diocese of Worcester issued a decree on Thursday punishing the Nativity School of Worcester, a tuition-free private middle school that serves about 60 boys from under-resourced communities.
The decree prohibits the school from calling itself Catholic and prevents Mass and sacraments from taking place on school grounds.

Are you actually capable of comprehending a stance that is not atheist but is also not Catholic? If so, your above post about the Bishop seems to highlight a comprehension issue that led to this thread's creation.

Marie Curie, for instance is never seen to overtly be an atheist, she was a secular agnostic.

We can say she was a weak atheist then. At least specify that and then compare the intelligence of strong vs weak atheists, I predict that the weaker ones will come out on top.

One thing I can agree with FLRW on is that Christianity and Catholicism should be razed from the planet.

Atheists Are Smart
No, you see, atheists (at least in certain online communities) define atheism as being a mere "lack of belief in god(s)". This means that rocks, trees, etc. are atheists as well, and so I think that when we account for every member in the group 'atheist' that we can determine that the average, mean, median, etc. IQ's are all pretty much 0. Therefore it makes more sense to conclude that atheists are (on average) dumb, with very few exceptions.

most atheists that i see on the internet lack critical thinking. they are presented with objective evidence for God [...]

Your initial response to this thread was correct.

I am constantly amazed at how much atheists need external validation.

I’m not even sure what this thread is even meant to accomplish or argue for. Seems like a mindless pissing competition of “my figure heads are smarter than yours”.
God’s the most intelligent, isn’t that right?

Applying the human construct of "intelligence" to the metaphysical doesn't make much sense.  God is over and above the measures men develop to assess themselves.

Men developed GOD as a naive explanation for what they couldn't understand.

Some people still use the concept thus.

Data transfer and storage is a persistent human ability, and continually effects how we function as a social species.

In this respect, the intellectual difference between you and I, was founded in  how we were brainwashed/programmed as infants.

GOD necessary/no GOD necessary.

Ergo........Theist/Atheist.

No more/no less.

When I say ‘figureheads’, I am talking about humans in this case. Yes, I do believe God is of infinite intelligence; however, the OP was about listing accomplishments made by humans to make the point that their side is correct because they are more intelligent (also,  I think OP was trying to counter the ‘atheists are cowards’ thread as well).

My only counters to this are that not only is it true that this type of argument is only good for raising the ego of whichever side makes it, it is also completely false. If one is to go by the accomplishments of humans, then what they should find is that no particular side has an advantage.

Perhaps the most powerful argument for atheism is the argument from evil.  According to this line of reasoning, the fact that the world contains evil is powerful evidence that God does not exist.  This is because God is supposed to be the most perfect being possible, and among these perfections is both perfect power and perfect goodness.  If God were perfectly powerful, then he would be able to eliminate all instances of evil.  If God were perfectly good, then he would want to eliminate all instances of evil.  Thus, if God exists, there would be no evil.  But there is evil.  Therefore, God does not exist.

Nope, that is only an attack on Christianity. All other religions allow god to have a mean streak or allow conflicting deities and randomness to be at play against a good deity's will.

Furthermore, without evil, good couldn't be valued, same with pain vs pleasure.

Did you know that Woody Allen is an atheist?  Allen, a former stand-up comedian, is a playwright, jazz clarinetist, and world-renowned filmmaker. Born Allen Konigsberg in Brooklyn, he began selling jokes to newspapers while still in his teens. Allen’s trademark black humor reflects strong atheist convictions, emphasizing the futility of human existence—for example: “More than any other time in history, mankind faces a crossroads. One path leads to despair and utter hopelessness. The other, to total extinction. Let us pray we have the wisdom to choose correctly.”

In 1900, 30 percent of all deaths in the United States occurred in children less than 5 years of age compared to just 1.4 percent in 1999 (CDC, 1999a; NCHS, 2001a). Infant mortality dropped from approximately 100 deaths per 1,000 live births in 1915 (the first year for which data to calculate an infant mortality rate were available) to 29.2 deaths per 1,000 births in 1950 and 7.1 per 1,000 in 1999 (CDC, 1999b; NCHS, 2001a).2
This decrease in mortality reflects a century's worth of advances in public health, living standards, medical science and technology, and clinical practice. Many infants who once would have died from prematurity, complications of childbirth, and congenital anomalies (birth defects) now survive. Children who previously would have perished from an array of childhood infections today live healthy and long lives thanks to sanitation improvements, vaccines, and antibiotics. In the United States, the average life expectancy at birth rose from less than 50 years in 1900 to more than 76 years in 1999, due in considerable measure to continuing reductions in infant and child mortality (NCHS, 2001c).

Who is kinder, God or Humans?

Really, using atoms to create everything?   Do you think that if we were all powerfull,  either me, RM, zedvictor4, Poly, ebuc, SkepticalOne or Reece101 would have done something like that?   Well, Wylted might have.

We all can say that.

God is a lonely person. You or I could be (a) deity inserting themselves unto the simulation with time-release memory and power restrictions that unleash after we exit it (not necessarily upon death, there even could be a further simulated afterlife).

I am not insane, I know I am speaking hypotheticals here but we could all be a god inserted into the simulation for either fun, an important purpose or a sheer punishment (could be self inflicted punishment or experimental curiosity).
