Yeah I suppose that wouldn’t fix anything apart from the thirst for revenge. But did someone actually say that to you? I should have been more precise about serious examples.
Clearly you haven't been on r/AskReddit.
In r/AskReddit, there is a chance that they are unironically speaking, albeit little. However, in 4Chan, the chance approaches 100%, with a nonexistent chance that someone leaks the coordinates of a military base containing nukes.
I haven't asked anyone anything on 4Chan because that site is as toxic as it is. However, yes, I remember getting this on askreddit, probably sarcastic, but what if not.

When I had been out of college for less than two years, my manager at my first company got fired. I told my parents about it and my dad encouraged me to apply for the role because there was an “opening.” Dumbfounded was definitely the right word. It’s not even a boomer moment because at no point would companies have wanted a 23 year old being a manager lol
No advice is useless. Some advice serves the purpose of guiding you and some advice allows you to judge the advice-giver as incompetent (and there is value in that).
