Government controls......That's the point....And a big country needs a big government.

The opposite of no control is a chaotic society.

So the present government might not be the one you voted for, but that's the outcome of a free election.

Not that another lot would have made much difference in practice.

The difference would only have been inside your head.

So you dislike tyranny....But I'm guessing that the opposite of what you currently perceive to be tyranny, is just your own version of tyranny.

And what you describe is fairly typical behaviour, not mixing outside of your immediate group of family and established acquaintances....I'm exactly the same.

Though I'm content and you're not.....And the difference is not other people or big government.....The difference is just in the way that we think.

That is to say, that all the external problems that you assume affect you personally, are actually only internal problems that you create yourself.


And the 1960's were halcyon days of childhood, never to be repeated....Accept or brood, that's your choice.....

Though ironically the Russian problem has similarly returned to haunt us.

I actually enjoy some of Rat-mans concepts.  I give them a 4.5 out of 10 on good content.

Sadolite I give a __?___out of 10.  

Masks work to prevent spread of covid viruses and other viruses and partly the reason so much less flu in last two years.

Vaccines work to help prevent spread of covid and flu, as well as help in keeping people from getting sick, having longer term side effects, that include dying.

I forget  Ratman's position on Covid. I think they are probably irrational about it. This is why they get 4.5 instead of a 6.

It seems to me that the whole point of everything is the acquisition, modification and development of data.....And we,  an organic data manipulating device, are currently an essential part of the process....Will it remain so?

No, not exactly in the way your suggesting above;

1} that, in and eternally existent, occupied space Universe, and with parameters of inviolate cosmic principle and inviolate physical laws---, what exists now, we eteranally re-occur, eternally with all kinds of other options in between, and,

2} if occupied space possibliites ---or even just the bare minimum---, is somehow encouded in black holes as lattice or matrix, then, all that can exist will sooner or later come to exist, and again, in eternity, such reoccurrences exactly as they are now ---or other ways---, will eternallyy re-occur, sooner or later.

Humans cannot truly grasp eternity or infinity, because we finite beings with a finite existence and that is all we really experience or can know from experience.

We can use the words eternity and infinitely, but to truly know them, when cannot.
 
The closet we can come is to using math's that Cantor developed.  They are not trully that much differrent then just speaking the concept of eternity or infinity.

Humans can only experience finite occupied space events.

If you look back at some of my older stuff you will see that I am into re-occurence, or re-initation, as I refer to it.

That is to say, the re-initiation of an eternal process.....Of which, organic intelligence is an essential part.

Still leaves one huge unanswerable question though.

Eternity is to time, as,

Infinite is to space.

Finite = structural integrity begins with three-ness ---even tho a shsort lived meson is only two quarks---

Infinite = lack of integrity ---even tho Fuller would have us believe that micro-infinite may exist---.

Viruses are finite, as are bacteria and any other contagions.

So you say.  What humans have only  experienced, is answerable in only one way, there exists no occupied space stemming from non-occupied space. Ergo the 1st law of conservation, ........naught is created nor lost, only transformed.....

And for sure, Eternity and Infinite in respect of Time and Space do not demand human qualification.
Roger Penroses 1965 paper proves, that, via general relativity { GR } maths, that, geodeisc incompleteness { singularity } must occur in black holes.  Hawking and Penrose found same mathmatical conclusion for our finite Universe i.e. space and time had a beginning with Universe, and endings in black holes.

I think there is an error with GR at those time-size scales of consideration. Fuller states ..." Energy is not lost; it is just not yet realized. It can be realized only
disequilibriously. "....i.e. it believes there is time when Universe becomes istropically the same ever where and that is equilbrious.

I approach this slightly differrently in saying that, what... 'is just not yet realized"... is just time, and what is realized is observed { quantized } time.  This is kind of too say, that the field is maximal disperal of space and time, and observed time is a more specificall finite set of space and time that has and associated value { quanta } that can be attached to it.

See my post on Geodesic Incomplenetness, as this thread is covid vaccines, and my wife has had four and I three.  I felt I had head cold this last week and got checked on my worst day ---monday--- and results came back negative for covid.
