Since my belief is that all that is right with America includes [but is not limited to] the Constitution. That, at least, sets an appropriate pattern to follow. I will note that there does not exist elsewhere a nation with such a standard because other nations are hesitant to allow that much freedom to its citizens because they think it cannot be handled, and that is not accidental. It is the determination of critics of the US Constitution that no one can live up to that standard, so why try. James Madison, himself, gave us the reason: If men were better angels, they would not need a government. Not even one constitutionally founded. The Constitution is the only next best thing.

Right. I find it interesting to note that our Constitution was actually an increase in federal power from the Articles of Confederation. It’s difficult to see that today, as the Constitution goes to such lengths to limit federal power. The Federalist Papers were not written to persuade authoritarians toward the new Constitution; they were written to persuade those afraid of federal overreach!

Well, you could cure racism by killing whoever protests with the police force, but that wouldn't be what you want.

You could solve any problem by eliminating the problems' means of spreading, but we probably don't want that when we think in a humanitarian way.

It's "Great" at half hearted meddling in global affairs and consequently leaving jobs half finished.

And.....Election Circus again in a couple of years (as if it hasn't already started)......That will undoubtedly make for "Great" entertainment.

Will the Rep's be rolling out that "Great" Orange and Rudi clown act again.

What's great  about America gets harder to answer with each passing day.   Obscene Horsepower vehicles would be what's great about America. Cant think of anything with regard to society or govt though, we are turning into a entitlement minded socialist shithole like the rest of the world. After that happens say good bye to obscene horsepower vehicles and back to the fucking stone age. Just my opinion based on history.

That didn't actually work for Pol Pot.

lol. that's some cliche-ass statement any politician of any wing could say to make 'fuzzy feelings' that get you to vote for them.

Stop the vague waffle and get to the point, do you specifically think that statement is only true for the US of A? If so, what makes you think so and why was it not true for things like the Roman Empire?

I found a quote about my country which I felt was worthy of discussion. Whatever else you get from that is you reading into things— with a rather large chip on your shoulder I might add…
