It’s a debate site. We should encourage controversial opinions. Otherwise it’s just an avenue for groupthink which is taught to be harmful in virtually every field. If you don’t like it, argue against it or ignore it.

People do choose to be offended. Someone calls me a dumbass over and over, I could careless. Name calling a part of life. Get over it and be an adult. Ignore it and walk away. At some point they’re gonna get tired of it.

tend to get all riled up when a guy like me shows up, genuinely lives by their ethos and yet supports a mainstream cause anyway, despite them pressuring me not to.

In fact, this is the only place I have ever come across where opposing racism and other putrid shit is in fact a controversial stance, so it's kind of the only time it matters to me to say it. Most of the Internet and world is thankfully moving on from prejudiced outlooks, slowly but surely. Thank whatever god(s) that exist for that.
