Thought #9 (if you pick a thought to respond to): If you travel back in time, what are you going to do to be successful, in whatever capacity you imagine, in whatever time you imagine?
@#803
A booklet would work,
Or a computer slideshow,
Same picture wouldn't show the character 'doing much,
But I'd think it similar of the difference between a photo of a person,
And the person standing in front of you.
@Thought #1 Left in darkness without sound
Hm, I say I could last years,
But that's probably me overestimating myself and underestimating the situation.
@Thought #2 Are people nice, or are they just pushovers?
People vary.
Is there a difference?
Sometimes, nice doesn't have to mean pliant.
And then, if a person is nice, is it a willful individual action, or something coerced by society/God/morality?
People vary,
If coerced by society assumes Society/God/Morality expects niceness,
Some societies expect meanness, yet nice people can still exist in them.
But I imagine there is 'some cause in or out of the person that they 'Choose/Are caused into niceness.
Thought #3 How do people get introduced into the underground criminal world?
Varies I imagine,
Some people born into crime families,
Some have friends or acquaintances involved in crime,
Some meet people in prison,
Some walk up to or are walked up to random people and offered X, and over time relationship might grow,
Some people hear of some criminal, and introduce themselves,
Varies I imagine.
how do hitmen and the like get into the business?
I imagine, but don't know, that most hitmen are involved with crime families, gangs, syndicates.
Thought #4 If I'm in a plane crash, and the survivors resort to cannibalism or some Lord of the Flies crap, how do I establish myself as either a leader, or some insane person you leave alone?
Heh,
My eldest brother, just the other day, was asking how long ought one wait before resorting to cannibalism in a plane crash,
Better to eat sooner than later, for strength, and quality of meat, but I digress.
Talk to people,
Ask certain people if they will help you by doing this or that with you,
Those who help tie themselves to you, same as people sometimes latch onto whoever they know a 'little, over those they know not at all.
Announce stuff a lot,
Is chance may succeed, people can be sheeple and just go with whoever 'says they're in charge (Sometimes)
For insanity,
Don't talk much,
Don't obey much,
Don't let other's know much about you,
People often fear that they don't know/understand.
Also weird behavior, but if people think you're 'crazy, then they get crazy afraid aggressive sometimes.
Thought #5 How old is too old for cartoons (Scooby Doo, in particular)?
In public, I dunno, maybe High School? Middle School? I don't know what other kids liked.
In private, unafraid of public opinion, or having friends who share hobbies, The Grave.
I still enjoy clips of it on YouTube, if I happen across it, or be in such a mood.
Thought #6 If you lose your ability to accurately trust your memories, what do you do?
Depends on context,
If drugs, maybe time to get help,
If unknown medical, maybe time to get help,
If Alzheimer's or Dementia, depends on individual wants,
If Other, keep records maybe, photos, journal.
Thought #7 Why do I think I'd survive the zombie apocalypse with virtually no survival skills?
Thought about what you'd do maybe.
Yearning for excitement, decreases danger assessment, maybe.
In your psychology, maybe you know/suspect you'd handle situation better than others.
Thought #8 What are some skills that you should learn? Maybe valuable in the job market, or for personal enrichment?
I should learn how to code and program, then try to make money off making something.
Thought #9 If you travel back in time, what are you going to do to be successful, in whatever capacity you imagine, in whatever time you imagine?
The time before so many cameras everywhere,
Either crime or just sitting around as a guard of someplace unimportant.
-->
@TheApprentice
what are you going to do to be successful
Develop calculus. It shouldn't require much to explain beyond what's taught in high school courses.

@Savant

Hmm, different than the typical answers. I like it.
Are suspenders with a belt 'so bad?
Allows both to be a bit looser, and accomplish their job.
Are socks with sandals so bad?
Sandals slip on and off easy, sometimes it's cold outside.
Dreams,
I don't actually 'remember any recent sleep dreams, though I 'do have them.
Daydreams, are more an enjoyable fantasy, like watching a movie you made yourself.
Ambitions though,
Well there's realistic, and there's grand intoxicating out of reach.
When I was a child, I played with rocks and army men a lot, dreamed about being a general, or a scientist, but both those faded pretty quick.
As a teenager, I dreamed about being a writer or a criminal,
But being a writer doesn't sound as fulfilling as 'reading books,
And being a criminal looks too risky, I've not the brains or brave to try that. . . Also morality, probably would feel bad of many crimes.
I lazed around home a couple years after High School,
Joined the Navy for five years after that, saved up a large chunk of money,
Lazed around home a couple years after that, though arguably helped my Mom move and buy a house, arguably stuck around a period to help try to get my 2nd brother clean, but he's off the wagon, unlikely to stay clean anyhow, was just staying to get his teeth fixed, but couldn't even manage that. . . But he's not going to be sane again until he goes to prison again, I would bet.
I like the sun, fresh air, books, and games,
I have a job I hate, stocking shelves in a grocery, that in another 6 months perhaps I'll try another job I hate.
Oh sure I could go to college (G.I. Bill) But I don't much care, my Dad went to college, still hated his various jobs in life.
Not to say there's no good jobs, or that college and a slight better job wouldn't be smart of me, but it's raining here and there, just a 'tiny bit less 'there, I don't care to move much.
I never dated in school,
Did and 'do like girls,
But I'm not interested in a relationship, or getting together with anyone, don't want kids.
No,
My ambitions are of the lower sort, poetically speaking,
“They have dreams,” I interrupted, “radiant, flashing dreams—”
“Of grub,” he concluded sententiously. - The Sea-Wolf by Jack London
Still, I love my parents, have their love, respect,
Love my sister, my brothers,
Have their love and respect,
Have an amount of comfort in life.
Have a close friend in life, I still talk to on a regular basis,
Various friends I know less well online, yet talk to a fair bit.
I've hobbies that fill my time, doodles in notebooks, game ideas, books ideas,
But I don't expect I'll will them anywhere.
Turning 30 this year.
. . .
Maybe not 'so low, I remember soft singing this song couple times, last night I worked,
Jimmy Cliff theme song cover | Squidbillies | Adult Swim
If a Leader/CEOs every move/action/view was recorded,
And always on display,
I think it 'could lead to better outcomes.
Not leaders involved in 'war though,
'Nation need lying secrecy,
'Maybe corporations do to, but I don't think corporations 'do.
. . .
Of ownership,
If owned by shareholders,
Shareholders demand profit over fair wages,
If owned by workers, workers might demand profit over wages.
. . .
Maybe an intricate document?
Preventing company being sold by workers for profit?
And various other provisions?
. . .
Single dictator option I suppose,
And Benevolent rulers 'can exist,
So long as workers and buyers have choice not to work or buy from the company.
. .
But still often easy one get's an inheritor that is crazy, greedy, not care.
. . .
Dictator 'and means to be removed from office?
. . .
Somehow Mortal Kombat again appears to me a fair solution in government,
Limited cultural ritual war,
On other hand, can become unlimited mandatory cultural ritual war,
Hunger Games, Running Man,
Hm,
But those examples are because of dystopia,
Even 'without the games,
Dystopia would likely lead to some unpleasant item.
. . .
. . .
GoverNment?
I kind of prefer Goverment,
Guver Mint.
-->
@Lemming
Dystopia would likely lead to some unpleasant item

@ebuc
Likely will and are a number of man made disasters about.
Not human race 'extinction level, I 'think, yet.
But likely some hard times for some populations, geographies,
Though tech, social cooperation,
Might help people a bit, in better weathering it.
@NoOneInParticular
It's not that separate points of view, truths, are not both true separately,
It's that certain separate truths, points of view, cannot be true at the same time/location,
Perhaps.
I hate to work.
I want to exist, to live.
Which I 'am doing, and will for ≤100 years, I expect,
But it's not enough,
Well, enough for 'what?
. . .
I still want more, to live longer, deeper.
Well, time to sleep for a few hours before work.
I quite like laughing at Doomsday preparers.
Vainglorious is a brilliant word
Body building and tattoos will be our salvation.
All hail the vainglorious.
Am I being vainglorious too.
Will the meek inherit the Earth?
Meek is such a meek word.
-->
@Lemming
It's not that separate points of view, truths, are not both true separately,
Here is one viewpoint from one source. World Wildlife Fund.
...." Water covers 70% of our planet, and it is easy to think that it will always be plentiful. However, freshwater—the stuff we drink, bathe in, irrigate our farm fields with—is incredibly rare. Only 3% of the world’s water is fresh water, and two-thirds of that is tucked away in frozen glaciers or otherwise unavailable for our use.
.....As a result, some 1.1 billion people worldwide lack access to water, and a total of 2.7 billion find water scarce for at least one month of the year. Inadequate sanitation is also a problem for 2.4 billion people—they are exposed to diseases, such as cholera and typhoid fever, and other water-borne illnesses. Two million people, mostly children, die each year from diarrheal diseases alone.
...Many of the water systems that keep ecosystems thriving and feed a growing human population have become stressed. Rivers, lakes and aquifers are drying up or becoming too polluted to use. More than half the world’s wetlands have disappeared. Agriculture consumes more water than any other source and wastes much of that through inefficiencies. Climate change is altering patterns of weather and water around the world, causing shortages and droughts in some areas and floods in others.
...At the current consumption rate, this situation will only get worse. By 2025, two-thirds of the world’s population may face water shortages. And ecosystems around the world will suffer even more.""
Yes, doom = gloom = slow death of poetry on Earth. I fell into the danger Zone is words to a song I think.
Antarctica is more hospitable to life than Mars yet Antarctica hasn't been colonized yet.
It sounds unfulfilling,
To frequent be false,
Probably fun instances,
But, moments in life,
I want people understanding me,
Like others connection,
Caring conversation,
Believing.
More difficult to have,
When easily speaking deceit,
Even jest spoken,
Habit forms,
By frequented use.
Becoming known,
A wolf boy,
Rarer, folk trusting,
Less giving, their hearts,
Slighter, honest times..
Would one not want,
For authenticity?
-->
@sadolite
Other than having air to breathe
One would still have to spend most of one's time cooped up indoors.
And eating Penguins.
Oh yeah....No Penguins on Mars either.
-->
@zedvictor4
My thought was this, if man cant even survive in Antarctica what makes him think he could survive on Mars.
But.
But.
There aint No sluts in / at / around Mars .
Whatsoever.
You'll know this right guys ?
Mars is a completely slutless planet.
Soooooo
FUCK THAT SHIT.
-->
@sadolite
Well, I don't think it's 'legal to colonize the place,
Else my money is more people 'would be living there.
-->
@sadolite
Well, I think that it's fair to say that if penguins can do it then humans could do it.
Isn't it just a case of, up until now there's been no real benefit in doing so.
Same applies to Mars really.
Though Mars is one step away from this Earthly prison.
-->
@Deb-8-a-bull
Nope.
Mrs Penguin is a good girl.
Did you know that all Penguins talk with an American accent and really enjoy dancing.
I saw this documentary once.
If people started living on mars.
Then It would only be a small amount of time before ,
《《《《《 WHEN MARS ATTACKS. 》》》》》
' joke drum sound '
Switching on corney voice. 78%
' flick '
Starts real real slow and loud ' corny type laughter 83% '
Ha.
He.
Ha.
Har.
Oh no , i can't turn off this cornyness switch.
So i continue in a ' corny voice.'
Guys?
Do you get it?
' pause '
Do you get that. ?
' Pause '
' pause '
I said, It wouldn't be long before, When mars attacks.
Ya know what i mean.n
Yes The movie.
When mars atracks.
Guys.
You knew that right.
' click '
Finally turns off corny
You Wankers.

@Lemming
Antarctica would be a good testing ground to drop people off with whatever they would have on a trip to Mars and see if they could survive in an environment 100 times more life friendly than Mars.
-->
@sadolite
Well,
There 'is life on Antarctica,
Human researchers are allowed to live there,
Though no colonists,
There's animals and plants (Though limited),
I don't know what the Ice Age was like for various humans, but we survived that,
Greenland (Despite the name) sounds cold to me, yet has farming of some sort I think.
Hm, looks like other's agree about it as a testing ground.

@Lemming
Watched 1st epsiode of David Eddenborough's Our Planet on Netflix. I seem to recall he statteing that most of Earths biologic life lives in waters of Antartica.
If it were more possible to verify an individual was the one doing the action,
Online dueling might not be so bad for disputes,
Not to the 'death of a person,
But eh, person who loses get's a week ban or something.
Again though,
Problem is how does one not know if the other individual is paying some super gamer to play the duel of choice 'for them?
Well, probably ways around that.
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
Supposing that the accused is able to select 2 or something peer judges,
While the Prosecutor picks 2 or something peer judges,
Debate as a trial sounds a bit fun,
But I imagine there is a reason they didn't catch on, on DDO.
Maybe they weren't official or something,
But my memory 'claims there were 'some there or other.
I hate toilets that you have to hold the handle down until it flushes.
Being a vegan is technically impossible. Everything we eat has bacteria, and organisms like tardigrades, mites, and microscopic insects. Unless you are eating algae grown in a Bio Level 4 containment facility, you be eating animals!
Huh, lot of Reddit's going private all of a sudden,
I hope their protests have some success.

@DavidAZ
I hate toilets that you have to hold the handle down until it flushes.
I know what you mean. People been holding the Trumpet flushing handle for many years now, and the crap just doesnt want to flush away.
