That is literally fake news as in fraud, that paper should be sued and pay compensation to all European governments for the disinformation.
Read what it says and consider how utterly corrupt it is.
"Long waiting times" clearly will kill less people than not being able to afford to wait at all and dying on the street not even attending the hospital.
So, unless I'm missing something, which I'm not, that already was a brutal fraudulent way to prove the title true from the get-go. After that, I noticed it completely missed out noticing that with free checkups and free treatments, the poor are far more willing to go and get things diagnosed, such as cancer or cholesterol issues and therefore literally save decades of their life by changing lifestyles or undergoing chemo etc.
While high-level chemo at times isn't free because anything above the minimal level is covered under private sector, as is most of dentistry in these nations, the poor end up left with more money for such procedures due to progressive taxation having taken less from their income, proportionally.
All of this put together ends up with a huge benefit to the poor and their lifespans in said nations, as well as the lower middle class.
