Of course morality is subjective.

@Dr.Franklin
how so?
-->
@Dr.Franklin
no, morality is objective
Bald assertion.
-->
@Tarik
*subject to*Doesn’t mean subjective.
That’s literally how you define the word.
-->
@Double_R
I stopped interacting with Tarik, whatever the validity of their claims, I find literally no progress being made by talking to them.
-->
@secularmerlin
well objective morality is a proven fact
-->
@Theweakeredge
virtually everyone has the same bare-bone morals across all societies, and everyone just knows right from wrong from conciousness
if morality was subjective, then this would be the opposite
-->
@Dr.Franklin
objective morality is a proven fact
Excellent. I look forward to you presenting this proof.
-->
@secularmerlin
everyone knows right from wrong
-->
@Dr.Franklin
everyone knows right from wrong
Right and wrong are subjective. Of course everyone knows how they would prefer people to behave.
-->
@secularmerlin
no its not, we have a conscious and brain that tells us otherwise
-->
@Dr.Franklin
Right and wrong are meaningless without some context
-->
@Double_R
Prove it.
-->
@secularmerlin
which is God
I stopped interacting with Tarik, whatever the validity of their claims, I find literally no progress being made by talking to them.
Yeah, that’s why you continued to @ me after I blocked you right?
-->
@Dr.Franklin
From a subjective human perspective, yes we have similar morals. The thing is - we are all similarly biased.
-->
@Dr.Franklin
which is God
No context as in a goal in this case. If we are playing chess and it is assumed that we both want to win then we can examine any given move to see if it is a good or a bad move FOR THE PURPOSES OF WINNING THE GAME.
No god(s), even if they exist are a context even if they provide some context (a separate proposition).
-->
@secularmerlin
God is the context of morality, he provides it
-->
@Dr.Franklin
Um... even if he provided "context" morality cannot be objective. You cannot derive an ought from an is.... no matter how is the is is.
-->
@Theweakeredge
that would point to objective morality
-->
@Theweakeredge
morality can be objective
-->
@Dr.Franklin
God is the context of morality, he provides it
I fail to see how any god(s) provide any context for morality that effects our defacto need to trust our own personal moral intuition in the absence of a clearly defined moral standard. What are you proposing some god(s) want and why should I care?
-->
@Dr.Franklin
Please explain yourself beyond repeating your assertion
-->
@Theweakeredge
your conscious from God determines the morality of you
-->
@secularmerlin
Because God created morality
-->
@Dr.Franklin
Because God created morality
Bald assertion. Also proposing an undemonstrated proposition as a cause for anything.
-->
@Dr.Franklin
don't believe in god, and that still wouldn't be objective, even if a god did exist because, and say it with me now, you cannot derive an ought from an is, no matter how is that is is.
-->
@Tarik
Prove it.
Prove what? That something which is subject to God's word is subjective? Are you serious?
-->
@Double_R

Well stated. Unfortunately he is serious. He appears to prefer prescriptive language to descriptive language. I have pointed out to him before the dangers of defining something out of existence.

@secularmerlin
Well.. to be fair, havng had conversation with this fellow before, they have an aversion to presenting evidence or accepting it, so that doesn't surprise me
