Oh how I missed you bruv

You didn't miss me at all, it's your website and your ability to unban me.

@Intelligence_06
I write everything in a separate Google Doc, then copy/paste it over personally. That way nothing gets lost, even if the site goes down.
Why is someone who has never done a debate a 0.0% win rate? Isn't that just 0/0? Why isn't it N/A?
-->
@Intelligence_06
It should actually be a 50% winrate
@RM
But, why?

A small idea regarding medals, would be adding a couple more for the voting leaderboard, similar to the rating leaderboard.
The #1 spot King of the Hill, could become Power Behind the Throne (referring to deciding the most debates, which the King of the Hill required for their position).
The top 5 spots Challenger, could become Electoral.

I like the idea, I will soon start updating the profile page and I'll definitely add more medals :)

@DebateArt.com
Can you make independent a political ideology? I think it used to be there.
-->
@Barney
Those are good ideas, but you'll be making RM work like a madman to get the Power Behind the Throne medal (unless he really is leaving permanently).

@SirAnonymous
The guy honestly deserves a modal for being RM (so long as it's hidden on everyone else's profiles). Kinda like how John Malkovich should have won more awards for Being John Malkovich.
Ok, I'll stop with the dad jokes now.

@Barney
Dad jokes are the best kind of joke.

Debateart.com: Alright RM, we have new medals here. Which one do you w-
RM: Yes.

I'd like to see "Radical Anti-Centrist" added as a political ideology.

Could you make it possible to edit debate comments? Deleting them and reposting them with the correction seems like a needless hassle.
Different fonts in debating, when?

Yeah I definitely will, it was just a temporary thing. Also I will put the likes button back.

Is there any way you can see your leaderboard place on your profile?
I've discovered a flaw in Forum. I don't pay much attention to Likes, but just now, I was, and wondered if I might see who was liking a post, as I've seen in other sites. I clicked on the Like icon, but instead of revealing who the like was on a post chosen at random [my post], it increased the likes by one point. Since likes is a rating factor in Forum, I don't think we should be able to like our own posts. That's self-serving, and I will not experiment again, but that facility ought to be removed.

@fauxlaw
You can just click the like icon again to remove your vote.

I could implement that but I would need to think about it because not all people participate in debates and I am not sure if it should be there.
-->
@DebateArt.com
Maybe just for like the top 20 debaters.

@DebateArt.com
Have you considered adding a page counter so we can gauge how many people may be reading but perhaps not commenting on debates and forum topics?

I am going to be reworking the profile page so I will give it a thought, I like the idea, just need to find out the best way to do it.

Yeah I will definitely add it but at this point we have so few people here those counters will not be much of a help, I imagine :/

Thanks, I'd be happy to know if even 3 or 4 people glanced at a post.

I believe the only measure of an argument should be your ability to convince an opponent.
By removing the "audience" from the equation, you automatically get a much more honest discussion and exploration of opposing ideas. It would also save a lot of time for the moderators sifting through long and detailed "reasons for vote". I'm sure a lot of "self-moderated" debates would end in a tie, but I don't see that as a "problem".
At the end of each debate, each participant would get 1 point for participation and have the option of awarding up to 3 additional points to their opponent. These points would simply accumulate over time and would count towards a debater's "Civil Debate" tally. Alternatively you might consider splitting their score into three parts ("1/1/1") where the first number is the number of "Civil Debates" they've participated in, the second number is the number of points they've received from other players and the third number is the number of points they've granted to their opponents.

@3RU7AL
I actually tried that. Vote still there.

The audience is removed from the conversation in private messages, as well as the. . . posturing people sometimes exhibit in debates, and the forum, 'usually.
The forum isn't 'too bad for debating to convince your opponent, even has thumbs up from people reading, if they rather like a post.
And debates can be created with the spoken interest of avoiding devils advocate, and speaking honestly.
I think it's an interesting idea, but it seems a bit difficult to implement maybe.
Maybe bit of a niche market.
And they are a good number of people unwilling to be convinced online, though 'maybe less than I think.
