Greetings, everyone!

First I have some bad news to share. Drafterman has opted to step down in his role as a forum moderator due to some real-life issues. I cannot thank him enough for his service. Rest assured that he is welcomed to come back to the moderation team when he feels ready to do so. 

Second, I want to inform you of a new moderation policy. For now on, any threads created by a banned user's alternate account will be deleted entirely

Why even add "banned" users since it is already a violation to have an alt account?

It is like me saying you were banned for banned hate speech. I'm implying there is some hate speech that is allowed like how you are implying that alt accounts in some scenarios are allowed which I don't think they are.

With regards to the supposed real-life issues, judging from a very obvious current pandemic, I wish the best.

Trump's terrible handling aside, this is a nasty piece of work and the only thing to be grateful for is that it's not harming the young in any significant way. If it were harming the young even remotely how it's harming the elderly, our species and the fabric of society (including doctors with children being willing to work and staying sane) would break as we know it.

I am disgusted that there are no sanctions or investigations being proposed to the UN with regards to China's involvement in both SARS and this. It's time for a country with such irresponsible handling of waste, healthcare for its poor and such to finally be exposed for its many atrocities. I may love Taoism but China is far too Confucianist for that to blind my judgement or bias me in favour of China.

I think both sides of aisle at the moment are doing a good job. Both sides did not expect a world wide pandemic to occur and China to lie about it. JB Pritzker hasn't done anything before the Virus became more severe. I think he is helping the small buisnesses get up on their feet and help them, as they are the most effective. The delay of taxes, cancellation of standardized tests, decrease of interest rate, and other things have been beneficial for the people. Could it have came earlier, certainly, but not much you can do when China lies

The poor can't even get tested, let alone treated or saved. They can't even access a pharmacy that has sufficient meds stocked at times. It's only being handled for the upper-to-middle class. Trump living up to his fucking upbringing and Republican putrid ethics (meaning lack of ethics).

Honestly his 'daily updates' are not even informative.

Unless you made a typing error, it sounded like you agreed with me. Every single other country has had useful updates (or in the case of a country like China and Russia they just got flat out dictator and don't do an update, they just enforce in general. Though I think Russia did both). Western European nations have had extremely useful updates so far, for some reason Italy and Spain are being hit far worse than the other Western European nations.

I think Canada is finally getting useful updates. The importance of these updates properly telling people what to do (not just dishing out stats and shoutouts to a person Trump works with in New York) cannot be overstated. Overbuying, hoarding and so much else is becoming a huge issue that needs proper informing to a panicking public about calm, clear directives on what to do.

As much as Trump lies, I think these "updates" are doing significantly more harm than good.

The updates would go a lot smoother if the president stopped talking to the press. There's a time to expose the press as corporate panic mongers and a time where its more important to save lives than to expose the corrupt press.

Just do what Biden and Obama do. Read a script then walk off the stage.

This is not a time to joke and if you are serious then this is a pointless comment to bring up.

Drafterman was always good with the DDO Elite, while keeping himself 'apart' from it in any truly obedient manner. His role as mod didn't hinder them, nor does his resignation help them.

You can keep joking all you want, the truth is that with this virus about, anyone can be taken away from online activity fast and it's not about the individual but if their profession is essential to the cause or someone close is struck, this is no time for anyone to be fighting anyone. Humanity has a common obstacle here, but as usual it seems only the Progressive Social Democracies are adequately handling it.

You see, it is not about 'division', it is actually about Right-Wing politics or ethics resulting in a brutally neglected poor and this is beyond just not providing healthcare. Think about it for a minute, the poor may not even be able to afford TV, Internet, they're probably out of work as most work manual labour or something similar. The only poor that still genuinely, securely have full-time employment are store clerks and any janitors in facilities being used. Stop pretending that this is a time to joke.

To be clear, I do understand there is a point when it becomes spam, but I haven’t seen any banned users making alts and spamming with them; they typically just a couple threads. I would say ban the users, don’t delete the threads, but announce in the thread that the OP is an alt.

There's very little that can be done for anyone with coronavirus right now except quarantine them. What we need is a vaccine or a cure, not "sufficient meds stocked at times."

Avoid traveling unless absolutely necessary. Stay at least several feet apart from people in public. Wash your hands with soap and water for about 20 seconds while singing happy birthday twice. Cough/sneeze into your arm not your hands, and most importantly, stop eating bats and other illegally traded wildlife!

No, it's not about right or left politics. It's about those stupid chinese not maintaining proper hygiene and not doing the above things I mentioned. That's why this coronavirus spread in the first place.
