homeschool is great, as long as there are social activities with other kids. like karate classes
You do homeschool precisely to avoid the dangers of going out into society. If I could I would stay at home to avoid social interactions altogether.

Home school kids tend to be ahead of their non home school counterparts academically.

I don't support home schools.

My reasoning is that if you have racist, homophobic, or sexist parents you're going to be breeding more racist, homophobic, or sexist kids.

Granted there are racist and homophobic teachers however the chances of getting 100 % racist and sexist teachers is highly unlikely and under the public school system, it's held accountable by the public and not a dictatorship.

There are other reasons such as the lack of social skills and lack of classes available however this is my biggest issue with homeschooling.

But if you have racist parents, aren't you going to be grown up racist no matter your school?

It's not a matter of stopping racism 100 %, it's a matter of reducing the odds of this occurring.

A kid who grows up with racist parents and a racist curriculum is definitely going to more likely than not a racist when he/she grows up.

A kid who grows up with racist parents and a nonracist curriculum may very well have a chance of becoming racist anyways. However, there is also a decent chance the kid will realize through learning about the horrors of racism in the world and being around other races and cultures that racism is a bad thing.

There have been studies I can link to you if you want that find that people who're exposed to a more diverse setting are less likely to be a bigot in the long run.

I was homeschooled for the majority of my life, and I hated it (or at least, looking back, I do now). I don't think it's because of homeschooling itself, but because my parents (specifically my mom, she ran the whole thing) never made an effort to actually homeschool me. The majority of time was spent thinking up cool games to play or browsing the internet. I barely learned a thing, even though I love to learn. It also made me extremely anti-social because I was never given time to hang out with other children, so now I have trouble making friends and keeping those friendships strong.

If you homeschool, you need to do it right.

Homeschool can be done right, I mean if you count online schooling as homeschooling than I have no problem with that.

However, regardless of the fact still remains that kids who go to homeschool are more likely to have issues socializing with other people, and in a world where many careers are built on socializing, these kids are left at a disadvantage whether they have a bigot for a parent or not.

If the kids themselves have higher test scores overall, that's great however if they have bad socializing skills than it's counter productive.

Yeahhhhh I agree completely

Me and my sister who was also homeschooled do both have really great test scores, and we also have better behavior than a lot of people in our school (we're not homeschooled anymore) but we both have problems with making friends, me a lot more so than her

I did online schooling for a while and I loved it, but that was only about a year and a half out of the 10+ years that I was homeschooled, I'm way more social when I can't see someone's face, which obviously is terrible

To be fair, there are pros and cons to both.

A lot of people who are very social in real life aren't tech-savvy and vice versa.

While homeschooling tends to be right wing, most parents aren't racist.  There are only 5000 Klan members and many don't have families.  There are about 3 million  homeschool kids.  The academic benefits of homeschooling outweigh the slim odds of developing a racist kid.

There can be racists outside the KKK. Do you agree with this?

You haven't given fair numbers on how many racist parents there are.

I mean there are far more racist people in the country than just KKK members.

Not to mention this is ignoring another point against homeschools being homeschooled kids generally having a disadvantage socially which is a huge problem when a lot of careers are built on socializing.

There are racists outside of the KKK, but what counts as a racist?  Would Trump be a racist?  Would a modern Republican be a racist?  What about someone who makes racist jokes that aren't serious?  Depending on the survey, the percentage of people classified as racist would vary drastically.  In my book, someone has to say they are racist for it to count.

In post 49, I respond to the racism allegation.  In terms of socialization, they can do extracurriculars to get socialization in.

Whether or not someone is a racist isin't set in stone.  Some people say Trump is a racist.  Some people don't.

So is a murderer still a murderer if he/she doesn't say so?
A murderer has strong incentive to lie in order to avoid harsh punishment.  There is no legal punishment for being a racist.  If people who have had abortions tell the truth to someone who they trust, then a genuine racist would do the same thing.

When you say there are racists outside the KKK you admit there are racist. When you question the definition you accepted when making that claim that is a contradiction. Either you don't know what a racist is or there are racists outside the KKK. What side are you on?

There is something called hate crime as in crime aggravated over dislike that can be over race. Want to add more distinctions?

There are racists outside of the KKK, but they are rare.

There is something called hate crime as in crime aggravated over dislike that can be over race.
A hate crime doesn't exist on its own.  If I were to say the N word to a black person while beating him up, that would be assault with a hate crime attached to it.  If I just say the N word in a hateful way, the black person would probably be angry, which they can be.  But it would not be a crime to do the latter.

How do you define a racists since you have already stated there are racists?
A hate crime doesn't exist on its own.  If I were to say the N word to a black person while beating him up, that would be assault with a hate crime attached to it.
But it still classed as a hate crime. It has the crime plus the hate attached to it so racist acting upon his intentions committing a crime will have what he did be considered a hate crime.
There is a legal punishment for being a racist as in a hate crime.

If that isn't enough for you. Hate crime threats are illegal.

"Criminal acts which could be considered hate crimes in various states included aggravated assaultassault and batteryvandalismrapethreats and intimidationarsontrespassingstalking, and various "lesser" acts until in 1987 California state legislation included all crimes as possible hate crimes.[70]"

Now what are you going to tell me?
If I just say the N word in a hateful way, the black person would probably be angry, which they can be.  But it would not be a crime to do the latter.
Here is a case where someone was speaking something and got arrested:

Someone who says discriminatory things to people on the sole basis of their race.

Now what are you going to tell me?
Threatening to beat someone up is illegal, but the supreme court has ruled multiple times that hate speech is protected under the constitution, as long as it isn't a threat or accompanied with some other crime.

I don't agree with the ruling.  But some cops are willing to arrest you for that.  Too harsh of a punishment for just speaking Spanish.  I think the person who endured jail would be reimbursed for their troubles.  I'll just let the court case play out and would want to see what happens.  This is about whether or not hate speech is legal, not if whether or not speaking Spanish is legal.

Can their be other reasons attached or can it only be based on race? What if the most important reason is race?

A threat motivated by racism. What do you say to that?
I don't agree with the ruling.
So now it has to be a legal requirement you agree with?
What laws do you agree with?
What laws do you disagree with?
This is about whether or not hate speech is legal, not if whether or not speaking Spanish is legal.
To ICE the Spanish speaking was illegal as in bad for someone to do which resorted in punishment.
