Throughout history there have supposedly been women and African Americans credited with scientific discoveries and inventions. The black invention rabbit hole is not one I want to jump into right now, but it has ridiculous claims of inventing stuff like peanut butter and is full of lies as well.

Women and African Americans weren't intelligent or creative enough to actually contribute to science, so what often happened was that they were treated as a type of #meat-computer . We didn't have actual computers or the computers were lacking a lot of the time, so when you hear of a woman discovering a star, it's because a real scientist hired her to stare at a 10 inch region of the sky for 8 hours a day and take notes of everything she saw. It was just rote monkey work. Similarly when you see of African American women in movies such as "hidden figures", they were essentially just meat computers that did the boring tasks while actual white men made the real science happen. Here is a list of meat computers that you will often see given credit as being great scientists.

Henrietta Swan Leavitt – Discovered the period-luminosity relationship of Cepheid variable stars, which became essential for measuring cosmic distances.

Annie Jump Cannon – Developed the Harvard Classification System (O, B, A, F, G, K, M) still used to classify stars by temperature.

Williamina Fleming – Discovered the Horsehead Nebula and classified thousands of stars while working at Harvard Observatory.

Katherine Johnson – Mathematician at NASA who calculated trajectories for the Mercury and Apollo missions, including Apollo 11's moon landing.

Dorothy Vaughan – Became NASA’s first Black female supervisor and taught herself and her team FORTRAN to transition from human to digital computing.

Mary Jackson – NASA’s first Black female engineer who worked on aerodynamics and advocated for women and minorities in STEM.

Joan Clarke – Worked at Bletchley Park as a codebreaker, helping decipher the German Enigma code alongside Alan Turing.

Beatrice “Tilly” Shilling – British mathematician and engineer who developed a fix for the Rolls-Royce Merlin engine used in WWII fighter planes.

Raye Montague – The first person to design a naval ship by computer, breaking racial and gender barriers in the U.S. Navy.

Grace Hopper – Developed the first compiler for a programming language and was instrumental in the creation of COBOL.

Black Human Computers

Christine Darden – NASA mathematician and aerospace engineer who became an expert in supersonic flight and sonic boom prediction.

Annie Easley – NASA mathematician and computer scientist who developed software for rocket propulsion systems, including the Centaur upper-stage rocket.

Euphemia Lofton Haynes – The first Black woman to earn a Ph.D. in mathematics in the U.S., later working to improve math education.

Melba Roy Mouton – Led NASA’s computing division that calculated satellite trajectories for Echo, Apollo, and early communications satellites.

Miriam Mann – One of NASA’s earliest Black human computers who worked to remove segregation signs in the Langley computing office.

Dorothy Hoover – NASA mathematician who contributed to aerodynamic and flight research during the early space program.

Gloria R. Champine – NASA human computer who worked on calculations for spaceflight trajectories.

Mary Winston Jackson – NASA aerospace engineer who helped improve spacecraft aerodynamics and pushed for diversity in the workplace.

You say "The black invention rabbit hole is not one I want to jump into right now", but that implies that the rabbit-hole is big, and that there are many black inventions to ?disprove? I am honestly confused by this Wyant ( Wylted + rant ). Are you arguing that Black Women have made many contributions to science, and also that each contribution is not impressive as the media makes it seem? Please clarify.

Wylted, it's a smart idea keeping this Lpinion ( loser + opinion ) on DebateArt

You are like that bully in school who mocked others for having worse grades than him. I may be stupid, but its not really my choice, in the same way smart people didnt choose to be smart but just got it as free gift from the Universe.

I am argue about women and blacks having their contributions puffed up. the real science is in creative work. Stuff Darwin did or Galileo and it's those type of creative scientists who hired women mostly to essentially be meat computers. So like staring at a small region of the sky to document stars spotted, time of day etc. Clearly the people doing that work contributed otherwise they wouldn't have been employed to do it. They contributed in the way a mule may contribute to tilling the land, but we don't give the mule the same recognition for the crops as the farmer.

The names listed for example were meat computers who made no or very little creative efforts in science. Sorting things into categories was their main work for many. You could essentially swipe them for other randos, where as that's not going to happen if you swap the creatives like Einstein or Nicolai Tesla.

Wylted, it's a smart idea keeping this Lpinion ( loser + opinion ) on DebateArt
I don't know what this means but if it's a criticism of attacking sacred cows, I don't care.

What's with you combining words like this?  it's odd

You say "The black invention rabbit hole is not one I want to jump into right now", but that implies that the rabbit-hole is big, and that there are many black inventions to ?disprove?
Correct. There are many inventions blacks get credit for that are just plainly and obviously false but they get repeated often, such as George Washington Carver inventing peanut butter. They honestly trick a lot of people into thinking that Carver invented mashing peanuts into a paste. It's just dumb.

I only mocked the A students who scored lower than me on state or federal exams such as the SAT. So I limited it to people who wanted to prove or prided themselves on being smart. I never mocked retards. I would have been cool with you in school

I just lumped them in with whites knowing they would be uncomfortable with that and having whites take credit for their work. I think I even called Einstein white to downplay Jewish contributions so you're welcome.

Which nationality has the most scientists?
South Korea tops the list for being the country with the most scientists per capita in the world. In 2020, South Korean researchers published 91,030 scientific and technical journal articles, ranking 13th worldwide and accounting for 1,762 publications per million population.

Blacks are Jews don’t want to compete with South Koreans.

There is a dark story behind that.

They force kids to study so much that they have one of the highest suicide rates among kids and worst mental health outcomes among youth. Sure, you can force all kids to do science to such an extreme level from a young age, but it comes at a price which has destroyed South Korean population.

The true story is scientific fraud. Science needs creatives and they are essentially big people which is why they value study 18 hours a day over creative work.

"The main reasons for child suicide are school-related issues such as demanding school work or bullying. These problems lead children to depression. Kenzo Denda, a professor at Hokkaido University, reports that in Japan 1 in 12 primary school students and 1 in 4 secondary school students suffer from depression, which causes many of them to commit suicide (Lu, 2015). We see a spike in suicides in September when children go back to school after the summer holidays; Japanese children are actually more likely to kill themselves on 1st September than on any other day. The spike in suicides repeats in April when students go back to school to start a new academic year (Oi, 2015). School-related issues and the children inclination to suicide are actually part of Japanese culture."

Wylted, standing strong like Galileo against the inquisition that is racial inclusivity.

Oh brave Wylted, in a world filled with conniving minorities who twist the narrative for their own selfish gains, bless us with your wisdom, so that we may see clearly again.

Oh Wylted, he who has developed far too many star classification systems to count.

Oh Wylted, he who has mastered Fortran, COBOL, and 32-bit assembly.

Oh Wylted. . .

Sing the song of science and reason, because for too long we have been deafened by lies, but now you let us hear again.

Only when it comes at the cost of truth or meritocracy.

On the contrary I think the reasoning is for altruistic reasons, they just happen to be factually incorrect.

Oh Wylted, he who has mastered Fortran, COBOL, and 32-bit assembly.
Well I am white and like the millions of white guys who have, even mastering a programming language wouldn't get me in the history books

I agree the motivation is there, and I've seen many other cases of exaggeration; but that doesn't mean your list can be taken at face value.

Especially in historical movies, they always overstate simply by the act of focusing you lose context; and they do more, adding in events that have no corroboration.

For example in the movie about Churchill they have the subway scene. It was moving, but an invention. If such a thing had happened there would almost certainly be some waves from the 50 witnesses.

In almost all cases where I have doubted and looked it up, the inventions in the portrayal of these 'minority heroes' has been in the bigotry they supposedly faced.

Women and African Americans weren't intelligent or creative enough to actually contribute to science
Baseless collectivism.

Similarly when you see of African American women in movies such as "hidden figures", they were essentially just meat computers that did the boring tasks while actual white men made the real science happen.
The Apollo Program was an engineering effort.

I am a space history buff, I did some poking at hidden figures and the story is essentially true. No more liberties were taken with the movie than any other historical movie.

For example the guy smashing the segregation sign violently. Exaggeration, but not to the point of dishonesty.

That's not "meat computer".

How do?

Do you think it's impossible to prove blacks have lower than white IQ or that women despite an average higher IQ have significantly less geniuses than men?

1.) IQ is a measurement of something but claiming it is a test of "intelligent or creative" is pure speculation, bad science.

2.) The laws of biology don't preclude the possibility of races of man with inferior intelligence or creativity, nor do they preclude the possibility of sexual dimorphism showing inferior intelligence or creativity.

It is all of human history and all honest attempts to statistically analyze the issue that preclude the possibility that inheritable factors have scope to cancel out non-inheritable factors.

Prejudice isn't wrong because god said so, it's not wrong because the universe was engineered to make all sapient lifeforms equal, its wrong because it's false; a generalization that is so useless that only the irrational bother worrying about it while engaging in society.

To put the exact same point another way: Even if you proved IQ meant something in terms of engineering or scientific achievement, and then you proved women or blacks on average had 3 points lower, the natural variation from non-inheritable factors would be 40 points.

You still could not look at a black woman and know she's not a genius, in fact; statistically there would have to be black woman geniuses and it shouldn't surprise you that every once in a while people with a less than healthy obsession with race and gender find these people and make a movie about them.

That's fair but your statements about aiQ are nonsense.

Obviously it is good at indicating intelligence which is why if I put you in a room of people with retard level IQs and then a room with normal IQ score people you would be able to tell me which rooms belong to which IQ groups.

Imagine a venn diagram, a giant circle "the detectable by being in the same room"

now imagine two much smaller circles "intelligence" and "IQ"

You just said that since the IQ circle is inside the giant "detectable" circle, it must be intelligence.

This does not follow.

You just failed at basic logic, I might say that is an indication that you are not very intelligent; but I am intelligent enough to know that would be simplification to the point of falsehood.

There are a dozen reasons you would make a invalid argument, most of them far easier to define than "intelligence".
