The problem here is that 1.61% of our GDP is being used just to make sure Musk (not billionaires in general, Musk is sucking up this much wealth on his own) is being "properly rewarded" with needless luxury after needless luxury.
This thinking exemplifies the caricaturish view of Musk’s wealth that I just described. You see Musk as a wealth taker rather than a wealth creator. You don’t seem to understand what Musk’s net worth means, either. Do you know how his net worth can change by billions of dollars in a very short period of time? Note that I did not say “increase by billions.” It surely seems like you have no idea.

Well you could win the debate with a simple paragraph explaining the exact limit of human innovation. You can even ask your buddies to chirp in like that Jubilee format. Feel free man.
I never said there was a limit to human innovation. Musk might well get us to mars. We should hope he does and that the flights are cheap because him and his ilk are buying up all the land here.
Why the fuck do we just hand over all resources to him? He will benevolently hand them back to us in a better form? That's the question.
Musk is a wealth creator insofar as he pays people. Sure, he progresses technology a little bit also. The country is no better for him unless wealth eventually goes back to the workers. He takes an unprecedented slice for himself. Needless, never seen before. So he can invest and give it back to the workers later? He buys twitter for 40 billion dollars.
Lay it out plainer than that.
