People mature at different rates no doubt, but you have to draw the legal line somewhere, driving, drinking, consent, they all need to have a point in time when it's legally OK, and it's never going to be fair for everybody. I'm old enough to remember when you could be drafted and go to war at an age when you couldn't have a beer, vote, or give consent. My disgust with Pedophiles isn't because they are chasing 15, 16, 17-year-olds, it's the children these laws are here to protect.
