I will be celebrating Christmas. Merry Christmas to you and Best.Korea.
Happy holidays everyone.

@Mall
Because my family does.
And they do, out of a mix of Culture and Religion.
My family makes a point of remembering and taking some action that for them, Christmas is about Christ,
Even if they also partake in the culture of Santa, Christmas lights, and food.

I take part in certain aspects of the winter solstice based festival celebrations.
Religion forms no part of it.
Though it is reckoned, that if the Jesus character of bible myth actually existed, he was probably born about 2030 years ago in the month of September.
So more of an equinox baby, rather than a solstice one.

So you're doing things because others are doing it.
Don't you have a mind of your own?
-->
@Mall
Why celebrate it?
Christmas is celebrated to remember the birth of Jesus Christ, who Christians believe is the Son of God. The name 'Christmas' comes from the Mass of Christ (or Jesus). A Mass service (which is sometimes called Communion or Eucharist) is where Christians remember that Jesus died for us and then came back to life.

@Shila
I don't think this is accurate.

I don't think this is accurate.
What is not accurate?
-->
@Shila
So the birth of Christ is not remembered by reading it in scripture. What was it? Luke 2:11.
Man had to invent a so called holiday.
It's just like the scripture teach, man invents schemes after God of scripture made it plain in scripture.

@Mall
Yes, and sometimes my mind wants to hang out with family.

Christmas is a business holiday.

@Lemming
Family is great.

@Canadaparrot
Christmas is a business holiday.
Christmas was traditionally a Christian festival celebrating the birth of Jesus, but in the early 20th century, it also became a secular family holiday, observed by Christians and non-Christians alike.

And Santa Claus.

@FLRW
And Santa Claus.
What is the connection between Santa Claus and Christmas?
Santa Claus embodies the spirit of the season because he symbolizes the spirit of giving and joy associated with the holiday season. He remains a symbol of hope, faith and joy, and is a reminder of the true meaning of Christmas. Origin Story of the Festival of Joy.

You don't need a holiday to associate with family. A lot of you get this backwards.

business claws
It’s good for business as well. People have to buy gifts they want to donate.

@Mall
I don't 'need the holiday, to associate with family.
But it is a time one can.
I can enjoy fireworks any time of the year, but it's cheaper in July, and there are big public fireworks in July.
Just the way holidays work.
Are you doing okay?
-->
@Mall
You don't need a holiday to associate with family. A lot of you get this backwards.
In our busy schedules, most people need holidays to associate with family.
-->
@Shila
You don't need a holiday in the name of a lie , fairy tale , etc.
-->
@Lemming
No I'm not. You don't need a holiday. Society is pretty much dictating the time selected to do what you're talking about and you conform to it which is what tradition does.
Just like arranged marriages. You have arranged dates . Both are tradition, taking your mind out to decide the timing and conforming to society deciding for you.
