Casey – MH370 – Motion Investigative JOAT [Tracker, Watcher, Reporter, Inspector] - Town Deaths: 239 (presumed) 

Terminal outcome: Disappearance 

Probable cause: Unknown, deliberate crash suspected 

Summary: On March 8, 2024, Malaysian Airlines Flight 370, a routine flight, began its flight  from Kuala Lampur to Beijing.

About 1 hour later, Air Traffic Control Radar tracked it making a sudden deviation from its  flight path. Shortly afterward, it disappeared from radar entirely. No communications were  made, nor was a distress signal sent. 

The aircraft would never be seen again. Investigators were able to track its rough flight path  by analyzing satellite communications, but despite extensive searches costing hundreds  of millions of dollars, it was never found. 

The most popular theory for its disappearance is a deliberate hijacking by the pilot, who  would have then set the aircraft onto a slow glide into the ocean, limiting the debris field.  However, no motive has been proposed for this. 

Alternative theories include an explosive decompression leading to the pilots becoming  unconsciousness, a cargo hold fire that incapacitated the pilots but then burned itself out,  and even a remote hijacking by Russian satellites. Again, no evidence has been found to  support any of these theories. 

Role:

Because of the sole evidence of what happened to MH370 being analysis of its location  and flight path, you are the Motion Investigative JOAT. You have the following abilities, each  of which you can use one night per game: 

-Tracker – learn who a player visited that night, if any. 

-Watcher – learn who a player was visited by that night, if any. 

-Reporter – learn if a player acted that night. 

-Inspector – learn if a player was acted upon that night. 

Legacy: 

Because a probable cause was never determined for the accident, few safety changes  were directly made. However, steps were taken to create redundant systems that would  prevent aircraft from ever disappearing entirely from tracking. In addition, “black boxes” - devices which record aircraft data to be recovered in case of an accident, were given a  longer battery life and new devices that would allow them to send signals allowing them to  be located. 

Legacy role:  

Because of how the accident was never solved, you have two options upon death: -Flip as normal. 
-Die, but remain flipless for one day; during this day, you may talk, but not vote.
