I dunno, personally I don't really have a scum leaning on anyone right now, as I said earlier. Lynching someone now would just feel like picking someone at random, and I just don't think it's that great of an idea.
That's the point, picking someone at random is literally better than no-lynching. This is pretty well-known theory which is why I'm surprised that none of the experienced players are pointing this out.
Let me try to explain this simply:
In a 7-2 setup as I assume we're in, town has three chances to hit scum before we go to parity and endgame.
Giving up a chance for no reason is bad. Ideally, we want to maximize our hit percentage each time we take a shot, but no matter what, we need to take a shot.
Even if the person we hit flips town, that's still better than having no info at all. D2 is going to be a repeat of D1, only down a townie and down a lynch.
