I started this one slightly early. Once again, this DP will last 72 hours.

Deceased Players:

  1. JoeBob - Lynched DP1 -  You are the Election of 1788-89! You were the first ever US presidential election, as well as the only one to span two years without a contingent election in the house. The enormously popular George Washington won all 69 electoral votes that were cast. This election, as well as Washington himself, would set important precedents for how elections and the nation in general would function moving forward. You are the Godfather! You appear to be Innocent to investigative roles, but you win with the Mafia.
  2. AustinL0926 - Killed NP1 - You are the Election of 1876! Republican Rutherford B. Hayes and his incredible facial hair ran against Democrat Samuel J. Tilden. The results were extremely contentious. Tilden won against Hayes in the popular vote, but there were widespread allegations of voter fraud, voter intimidation, and disenfranchisement of black Republicans. To solve the issue of who the winner ought to be, Congress created the Electoral Commission, a body of fifteen people tasked with investigating the election and settling the 20 disputed electoral votes. You have the investigative authority of the Electoral Commission. You are the 2x Cop. Two nights per game, you may target any other player to learn whether they are Innocent (win with the Town) or Guilty. You win with the Town.

Well... that's a shame. Get rid of the Godfather only to lose our Cop. I'm not surprised Austin was killed, if only because he would have been widely townread after CCing JoeBob, though I'd be surprised if scum figured that he was the Cop based on his claim.

In any case, we had 5 people on JoeBob's lynch, though since we all hopped onto that lynch after Austin CC'd him, that doesn't mean as much as I'd like it to. I would not be surprised if someone who jumped on the lynch just saw the writing on the wall for their scum partner.

Couple of things I'm noting from last DP and this one. JoeBob's fake claim was ludicrous, it came off as entirely desperate and barely prepared. His flip suggests that the split might be between landslide elections and others, or between very early elections and others. Hard to say.

True enough. I don't think you would have pressured for a straightforward character claim if you felt there was a risk of being CC'd. I also don't think you would have helped him design that Suspect Fruit Vendor claim, but I'm going to give more detailed thoughts on who I'm putting in which camp after we get our two remaining claims.

The depression was not hoover's fault and being a catholic is why his opponent lost.

It's a liberal worldview so essentially your typical taking the fog of war of the era and pretending like you can understand it by applying a couple of modern lenses that even fail in our current era.

It's best to look at history as what happened and leave your "why" to taint your other bullshit.

I am actually against full claims in general. We honestly use them too often. I won't be voting for anyone's claim unless they appear guilty and even then I will vote for their lynch not their claim as it is retarded and not neccessary
