“A whopping 81 percent of rural counties had more deaths than births between 2019 and 2023, according to an analysis by a University of New Hampshire demographer. Experts who study the phenomena say the shrinking baby boomer population and younger residents having smaller families and moving elsewhere for jobs are fueling the trend.“
Rural America is rapidly shrinking. Bye bye Trump country!

You hate Trump. The issue (for you) is not rural people existing; it's the fact that in the US, rural people are more likely to back Trump than urban people.
So you may be celebrating, but since you hate Trump, you shouldn't be. If you were honest, then you would view someone like my grandfather (white skinhead boomer veteran that hates Trump and DeSantis and is not voting for him in 2024) the same way as an urban BLM supporter. You would also view the stereotypical redneck the same way you view Cadence Owens (urban black young female Trump supporter).
Yes; rural people are becoming less common. BUT, Trump supporters are becoming more common.
2024 General Election: Trump vs. Biden vs. Kennedy vs. West vs. Stein Polls | RealClearPolling says Trump is winning the popular vote against Biden. He lost it by about 8 pts in 2020 and now he is winning it by 2 pts (despite Jan 6 and despite him being a convicted felon). Any generic democrat would be able to beat Trump easily.
But the democrat is Biden.
A decent chunk of the US voted against Trump in 2016 and 2020 but will vote for him in 2024. You hate Trump. How do you win this voting group back?

@TheUnderdog
BUT, Trump supporters are becoming more common.
They are? How do you know this? One poll?
Your grandfather was a skinhead? Gee, you must be so proud.
-->
@IwantRooseveltagain
Trump lost the 2020 election by 7-8 pts and now he is winning the popular vote by 2-3 pts. It's a 10 pt gain. This is an average of all polls.
-->
@TheUnderdog
Trump lost the popular vote in 2016 as well.
-->
@IwantRooseveltagain
You are correct, but the 2016 election is irrelevant compared to the 2024 election.
The electoral college is something you are going to have to deal with until it gets overturned.
Rural areas are literally bitching about California residents moving to them and then voting for the same policies that made California unlivable. I live in a blue area. It is very unsafe and I will be moving to crime free rural America at my first opportunity to get away from these thugs and idiots

@WyIted
You should move to Northwest Pennsylvania. I hear there are lots of available places to live there, what with everyone dying and all the young people moving away.

@IwantRooseveltagain
In a techno-controlled World, does it really matter where a techno-addicted society lives?
Red hat, blue hat, does it make a lot of difference?

I have seen Philadelphia, it's essentially a blue state.. look at Kensington street. It's just what happens in blue areas. I have literally never seen anything like it in red areas like Jupiter island

Any generic democrat would be able to beat Trump easily.
Generic candidates always do better in polls, because it’s far more difficult to propagandize against a faceless individual.
The problem isn’t Biden, the problem is a media ecosystem that is designed to destroy whomever sits in power, regardless of whether those attacks are at all truthful. Look at the Biden video that went viral of him “wandering off” when the full video shows it was all a lie. The MAGA faithful will be lying about that incident through election day and beyond. They’re still talking about him “shaking hands with thin air” even though that was a lie as well.
If not Biden they’ll just do it to someone else. So while I understand the appeal a new face may have had, I think Biden was ultimately the best choice to beat Trump. Anyone else would have been too great a risk.

How would the GOP propagandize against someone like Obama? Obama was very well liked by normies.

Rural areas are literally bitching about California residents moving to them and then voting for the same policies that made California unlivable.
Where We Came From and Where We Went, State by State - The New York Times (nytimes.com) says the following:
- 75% of those born in CA stayed in CA.
- 82% of those born in TX stayed in TX.
- Only 5% of those that live in TX moved there from any western state; for Californians; it may be 2%.
- Only 8% of CA residents moved to any southern state. About 4% of CA residents are from a southern state.
These figures are really close to each other. Also:
- 7% of NM residents were born in TX. Less than 5% (probably way less than 5%) of TX residents were born in NM
Don't TX my NM!! Vote Blue!!!
Does that sound silly? Well, it's what I think of when people tell CA people that move to a red state to, "Vote red".
If you want someone to vote blue, red, or other, than convince them to do it with debate instead of being like, "QUIT BRINGING YOUR BLUE STATE VALUES TO THIS STATE" (which red state residents are about as likely to move to blue states as vice versa).
Florida has about as many movers from blue state Pennsylvania as red state Ohio. You know why? Because these 2 states have similar climates. It turns out, a lot of people (especially old people) hate northern states regardless of political affiliation due to the temperature.
The majority of ND residents didn't even stay in North Dakota. I guess ND is a shithole state due to conservatism. Or ... it's just a cold rural place and the jobs are in cities now?
If red states were havens for blue state residents because they are red states, then it would be not just Florida where a bunch of NYers moved to, but also Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, and more. But only 3%, 2%, and 2% of the populations of these states are from the northeast. Why? Yes, they are southern states. But their winters are very similar to the ones in the northeast.

Obama’s unapproval ratings were very high when considering how scandal free his administration was compared to his predecessors. But at that time there was no OANN or News Max and Fox News wasn’t anything like it is today. I can only imagine the filth those networks would broadcast if he were to somehow serve another term.
How can the video show it was a lie?
By showing the skydivers whom he was talking to instead of cropping them out to make it look like a lost senile old man.
Are you saying that video was a hoax?
No, I’m saying he wasn’t doing what the propagandists claim he was doing. He wasn’t shaking hands with anyone, he was making a hand gesture towards the crowd he was facing. I remember watching that video and instantly remembering him making that exact same hand gesture towards the crowd before his first debate with Trump in 2020.

@Double_R

It would be high among Republicans, but I think nationwide, Obama’s approval rating mainly stayed above 50%. He won Florida (2x).
But at that time there was no OANN or News Max and Fox News wasn’t anything like it is today. I can only imagine the filth those networks would broadcast if he were to somehow serve another term.
Why would they treat Obama differently then vs now? They tried to get us to think Obama was born in Africa; that had little effect since pretty much everyone that believes Obama was born in Africa wouldn’t vote for him even without that propaganda.
Now, if Obama was born in Africa, then it shouldn’t matter because nobody has a principled stance against voting for immigrants for POTUS. You would rather have Ilhan Omar be POTUS over DeSantis and the right would prefer Elon Musk to Elizabeth Warren. Being an immigrant shouldn’t matter for the POTUS job.
By showing the skydivers whom he was talking to instead of cropping them out to make it look like a lost senile old man.
Wait, are you saying that Biden was talking to skydivers instead of to himself? If so, then can you send the video link to the real video?
This is happening in every country around the world and has been for the past 200 years.

@TheUnderdog
Why would they treat Obama differently then vs now?
Because the propaganda is way worse now than it was then. Trump has changed the culture. Back in those days, republicans were scared to get caught in a lie. Now all they do is cry “fake news” and face no accountability for their lies whatsoever. Obama’s birth certificate was controversial back then, it took a lot of balls to claim that the president of the United States wasn’t elected legitimately. Now republicans regularly accuse democrats of being groomers and pedophiles with no evidence whatsoever and no one cares. With Trump came the death of decorum, irony, shame, and any regard for reality. It’s not the same world.
Wait, are you saying that Biden was talking to skydivers instead of to himself? If so, then can you send the video link to the real video?
FLRW just posted it, but the fact you had to ask makes my point. They would have done this to anyone.

Good point. I watched the clip. But the right won't get away with claiming Barack Obama looks like he has dementia; Obama doesn't give off dementia vibes; Biden does.
Now republicans regularly accuse democrats of being groomers and pedophiles with no evidence whatsoever and no one cares.
Both sides do this (Catholic Church, Matt Gaetz).

@WyIted
The red states have all the crime. Texas has multiple mass shootings.

Yeah I think I have heard of some there. Still safer than kinsey street or skid row.

They’ll just find something else to make up. Propagandizers know what they’re doing, and what they know is that the best lies are the ones that contain an element of truth. Biden is old, that’s obvious, so they play on people’s reservations by saying he’s senile. Hillary Clinton came off as calculated, so they used every lie and exaggeration in the book to make her seem deeply untrustworthy. Everyone has some flaw somewhere, once they find out they’ll beat the hell out of that hoarse.
None of this is new, it’s politics 101. What’s new is the utter shamelessness and lack of accountability on the right. What republican politicians have figured out is that their base not only doesn’t care about reality, they want to be lied to.
Both sides do this (Catholic Church, Matt Gaetz).
The left does it but the shamelessness and lack of accountability is no where near the same. Gaetz was indicted for trafficking and having sex with a minor, it is not a stretch to call him a pedophile. It’s a very different thing when it’s done indiscriminately with no evidence.

I have been warning you for years what would happen when the shoe goes on the other foot. Now both glass houses come crashing down.

Your 1st paragraph was a good point.
Gaetz was indicted for trafficking and having sex with a minor, it is not a stretch to call him a pedophile. It’s a very different thing when it’s done indiscriminately with no evidence.
In my book, you can only call Gaetz a pedo with merit if he gets convicted of acting on pedophillia. Then he should be killed (which wouldn't be a big deal for the GOP because some other republican can replace Gaetz in his district and win).

Really? I don’t think homeless people carry assault weapons

Most people that carry weapons won't bother you but try to walk through skid row without being botheres
-->
@WyIted
So you are conflating the terms safer and bothered. Is that because you don’t know what you’re talking about?
To you, is not being safe about getting asked for loose change or being shot dead?
-->
@Greyparrot
I have been warning you for years what would happen when the shoe goes on the other foot. Now both glass houses come crashing down.
No idea what you are talking about. There is no shoe on the other foot, there is no equivalence to the detachment from reality on the right vs the left.
-->
@Double_R
No idea what you are talking about.
That’s because he has no idea what he’s talking about.

@IwantRooseveltagain

I think you know walking through the ghetto is more dangerous than walking through a Walmart in rural Alabama and seeing a hunch of rednecks with guns on them.
