For DP1 you don't need to do much. You can catch up on claims better by reading a dashboard, than you can slowly shifting through all the posts.
You'll miss some moments, but no one has done anything with their roles yet, so it's not even quite behavioral reads but more of gut feelings (well, after accusing someone of being sus, their reaction is fodder for behavioral reads).

Cause he’s inactive a lot. I’d like to lock him into a claim early in case he’s scum. Skating by is most often how scum win while town bicker with each other. I also can read yours, Moozer’s, and Joe’s behavior better than his

I'll note that the last time Austin gave early town reads based on pretty flimsy reasoning, he was scum and town read other members of the scum team. It would be very interesting if that was the case here.
