@Benedicta
When did swearing become a right?
1791

When did uttering foul words even become a privilege?
1791

Yes, I think even white people should use the word. I mean if we are going to make such words a societal norm we might as well slap equal rights on to of it. Isn't that what we always do, this human race?
It's called the 1st Amendment.

Please educate yourself.

Yeah, will you say that to a black person after you call her/him "nigger"?

I am pretty sure the black person will understand your point of view.

The problem here is you’re chalking the n-word up to just a swear word, but it can be used in a bigger context than just that.

I know this sounds all sparkles and rainbows, but words do have power over people, and specifically the n-word can be used to put people down.

I find you and your ideals disgusting, bigoted, and horrible, so I’m basically just done with you.

True. They believe that white people are oppressors, and they say Hitler is an example of a white oppressor.

It all comes down to the reason you use any word.

Somebody asked a question what is the point of freedom of speech?

Good question because what is the bottom line?

Some believe freedom itself is just good so therefore freedom in this, freedom in that.

When you do not even understand the definition of 'tribalism' let alone use the term in rebuttal correctly, you are in no position to tell me how I am (or not) chalking up the n-word. There is no such thing as a bigger context, it's a word.

I know this sounds all sparkles and rainbows, but words do have power over people,
No, a word has NO power over anyone. It's the receiver that gives any particular word some measure or form of power, not the one speaking it at them.

and specifically the n-word can be used to put people down.
Again, the receiver puts themselves down.

Only sticks and stones hurt, names bounce off you. At least they should, but as of late we have far too many snowflakes and hypocrites walking amongst us whining about words hurting their feelings without even bleeding from an actual wound.

I find you and your ideals disgusting, bigoted, and horrible, so I’m basically just done with you.
I find your young naive age, your ignorance, hypocritical bigotry, and intolerance for those who consistently prove you wrong "horrible" and I could care less if you're done with me. You don't mean anything to me. You're just another uneducated child mouthing off to adults who clearly know more, understand more, and are far more educated than you.

When you lack the integrity to admit you're wrong and personally attack those who prove you wrong, you just put on display 100% pure intellectual cowardice.

You literally need to grow up and get some life experience.

The people who get mad would be in that 30% of black people.  But once they realize they are in the 30%, that percentage would fall pretty quickly (because most blacks don't consider race with the N word).

Yeah; freedom is good.

White people having the social acceptance of saying the N word is a fun superficial right; it's not anything fundamental.

I  bet ludofl3x says he only friends people with an IQ over 200.
Someone's got a big ego.  Lol.

But I'm glad you think my IQ is above 120.  I took an IQ test twice (1st time I bullshitted the test because I know a lot of tests inflate your score; 2nd time was for real).  1st test I get a 78; fairly predictable because it's the 6th percentile and 12% of people don't try on tests, so I got about the median for that group (I randomly guessed).

The time I take the test for real; I get 142.  I think most people here have an IQ at least 115.

That was a rhetorical question, for the sake of clarity a rhetorical question is meant to provoke thought and emotion rather than generate a response but I guess my rhetorical questions provoked so much emotional  response for you that you forgot your debating etiquette. What do I mean by this? Yeah it is true according to the 1st Amendment swearing is a right. However it is a right with boundaries as it can not be used in certain contexts or cases as the following;

1. **Obscenity**: If the swearing meets the legal definition of obscenity, it is not protected by the First Amendment. Obscenity is determined by community standards and must lack serious literary, artistic, political, or scientific value.

2. **Fighting Words**: Speech that is likely to incite immediate violence or constitute "fighting words" is not protected. This category includes language that is intended to provoke a violent reaction.

3. **Time, Place, and Manner Restrictions**: The government can impose reasonable restrictions on the time, place, and manner of speech, provided these restrictions are content-neutral and serve a significant governmental interest.

4. **Harassment or Threats**: Swearing that constitutes harassment, threats, or other forms of unlawful conduct is not protected.

I hope I filled the portholes of intellectual bankruptcy your mind.

Cool, so you'd only have a 3 in 10 chance of offending anyone then, and by your own assessment, as you do it would go down and not up. When are you going to start just using the N word in public then, how have the results been so far? Have you said it to a black person and then said "I guess you're in the 30% of black snowflakes who think that's a racist word, it's really just like bitch"?

I'm not using the N word yet, but I'm waiting for the 30% figure to fall to even lower numbers among blacks (because many will adopt the majoritarian position solely because it's the majoritarian position, making the majoritarian position even more majoritarian).  If only 5% of blacks actually have a principled issue with it due to most blacks in the 30% assimilating to the majority of blacks, then that 5% is going to be much less relevant.  It's kind of like how vegans make up 3% of the population, so even though they believe meat eaters commit murder, they kindof have to be quiet about that because they know their opinion is extremely rare.  A world where 30% of the population is vegan and it's believed that 80% is vegan is going to have more vocal vegans than a world where it's 3%.  Those that eat meat would do so away from those that they even think have a chance at being vegan in that world to avoid the drama.

There is strength in actual numbers and perceived numbers.

Why aren't you doing your part to lower the 30% by exposing to everyone how hypocritical it is to think that word is a "no no" according to your reasoning? You say you're a free speech absolutist, but here you're regulating yourself because of a measly 30%, I mean if you were someone of principle, who really believed in it, you'd just be doing it and explaining it, with everyone who objected, saying "Ohhhh, now I get it, how could i have not understood that? Thanks!" I just don't get what's stopping you, because absolute = absolute.

So, secret gatherings where you can eat a burger, say women would be happier as mothers than corporate slaves, and also say the N word?
I suppose they all go together.

I lower the 30% by citing the 30% poll like I did on this thread.

Free speech absolutist means in this context, "I am alright with white people saying the N word".  It doesn't mean I say it personally to black people.  It means I am alright with other people doing it.

This is a great thread for fragile white people to vent. White grievance!

The marketplace of ideas needs to be broad and deep, and awful people must be free to spew terrible words,
—Samuel Alito

Enter the MAGA MORONS. This is their great contribution to American society- terrible (and stupid) words

The idea that the government may restrict] speech expressing ideas that offend … strikes at the heart of the First Amendment. Speech that demeans on the basis of race, ethnicity, gender, religion, age, disability, or any other similar ground is hateful; but the proudest boast of our free speech jurisprudence is that we protect the freedom to express “the thought that we hate”

The Supreme Court is proud to let morons be morons.

Many women choose not to give birth. Its called modern society. It is no longer mandatory for a woman to dedicate herself to her family. Now she is free to work a difficult job instead and have money instead of reproducing and being a mother.

Exactly. There's no reward from raising a child. In fact, we should change Mother's day into Corporate minion day. It would be very easy to get corporate America to agree as it falls on a Sunday.
