The early Roman calendar that the current calendar is based on only named ten months beginning with March, so September through December were numerically correct as the 8th through 10th months, the period of January and February came after December, and were named much later, and later still moved to the beginning as 1st and 2nd.
So what moron is responsible for putting Jan and Feb at the start?
