This is a toxic mess, you need to enter it with the right mindframe and ration how often you visit it. If you do that, it's a kind of 'strengthening' tool in a way, a fun outlet for intellectual flexing with words in a dingy corner of the Internet.
I agree that the site is toxic, but I cant seem to take a break from it.
I do tend to either ignore things I dislike or respond with some amount of disliking things or just things, but I really cant get myself to go away for like 2 or 3 days.
Its mostly because other sites arent as fun.
YouTube is full of bots and spam, and I dont even use it to debate anymore because you have to post like 100 comments to get one somewhat logical debate.
In fact, people are such trolls there that they literally repeat same argument 10 comments later after you negate it.

I'd never heard of it myself until one of the rudest members ever entertained by this forum mentioned it. She too was a pagan, a Witch in fact. A disgusting filthy wretch she was, couldn't stop talking about the sex and children and labelling some members here as paedophiles.
Reiki certainly didn't work for her temperament or her anger or her penchant for creating conflict out of nothing as it was supposed to, according to her. I actually thought she was suffering with some serious mental issues. So it had no calming effects on her whatsoever.
But she swore it worked wonders for her and was so happy when she had reached a certain level in the Reiki field.

While I work with about 100 students, mostly seniors, they are all in special education, so they would not be interested or comfortable debating in such an open and unforgiving setting. I could maybe talk to some of my peers and pitch the idea to them though for the other students.
