people relate gender to things wich makes no sense, and is the bare core root of the problem, we should think of each other as individuals that commit actions or have taste these things shouldnt define how much of a man we are or a woman, if you are a man you are a man, if you are a woman you are a woman, no habit will make you less or more of the other, sure it migt relate you to a gender more but that is an outer perspective that is marked by society you should just care of living your life without paying attention to others judgement everyone is both femenine and masculine yet they dont have different size genitalia of both teams we are what we are regardless of how we are, i think it is a mental health problem one that bases itself off from peoples expectation and our counscious or uncoscious desire to meet these expectations, these can be about anything it just happens to be gender in this case
Well said.
I suspect it will be argued 1 therefore 2, which is the angle I’d personally attack since I can’t even imagine how someone would prove that negative…
People do body mods for self confidence all the time. Proving that it’s a sickness AND not an identity issue (regardless of if it’s caused by a sickness), seems neigh impossible.
Ok fair point Ill clarify
1 is basically a truism if voters accept his definition of sickness, which I assume they will lol
2, 3 and 4 are, I guess somewhat debatable.
5 might be where the issue lies for Pro, but I dont really think its impossible to connect 1 and 2 to 3 and 4. All he needs to say is that transitioning doesnt cure sickness, with 2 being proven to support that claim.
You are trying to do too much pro. You have to prove way too many things.
1. It is a mental health issue
2. It is not an identity issue
3. We should stop medically transitioning them
4. We should stop socially transitioning people
5. That because of 1 and 2, we should do 3 and4
Technically I can agree with points 1 2 3 and 4 and disagree with 5 and win. So con can choose one point to defend while you are stuck defending 5 different things
