Description
I draw the line at 7 which is basically an adult.
7 year olds should be allowed to drink alcohol assuming they have money to afford it.
Round 1
If I started drinking at age 7, it would be much better for me.
I prefer children not to be dead. Alcohol is a dangerous substance, especially for children, resulting in death or severe medical emergencies.
Round 2
If alcohol is a bit harmful, so what. Junk food is harmful too, but you dont ban that.
I fail to see how junk food is relevant to this discussion.
Just because one bad thing is not banned, does not make it good to legalize other, much worse things.
Round 3
You just want to stop 7 year olds from drinking because you want more alcohol for yourself.
You just want to stop 7 year olds from drinking because you want more alcohol for yourself
My opponent is no longer presenting productive arguments, but personal attacks.
I don't think that caring about the well being and lives of children makes me a greedy alcoholic.
Round 4
You dont know 7 year old's life. Maybe he had a difficult life and needs alcohol to forget and feel better.
I think this debate has reached its end.
Your seven year old would kill themselves. Not ideal.
Round 5
I draw the line at 7 which is basically an adult.
7 year olds should be allowed to drink alcohol assuming they have money to afford it.
If alcohol is a bit harmful, so what. Junk food is harmful too, but you allow that.
So why are there laws which ban 7 year old from getting drunk?
7 year old is basically an adult.
I can understand banning 6 year olds from drinking, but person at age 7 is already a developed individual.
Plus, we need to draw the line somewhere, so why not draw it at 7?
I have seen the metal abilities of these people. I know that you think how they have brain cells to lose, but trust me, they dont.
They are not going to achieve any greatness, but they can drink to feel better.
If a 7 year old drinks a glass of wine, he wont get fat from it, but he will feel better.
6 year olds shouldnt drink alcohol, but it should be legal for a 7 year old to drink.
Some children dont live till 18, so they cant wait till 18 to start drinking. But they can wait until 7.
But alcohol feels good, so it should be legal for a 7 year old to drink, since 7 year old is an adult.
There are basically no counter arguments for my position, since your source talked about only a case of a 4 year old. I agree that 4 year olds shouldnt drink, but 7 year old is 3 times bigger than 4 year old, so he can drink some.
I suggest doing more research, and read what the topic is. Your source never mentions any case of poisoning for age 7 and above, but only for age 4, so I guess I win because you cant post new sources in last round.
I draw the line at 7 which is basically an adult.
Except it literally is not an adult by every serious definition I could find.
Your arguments are that it feels good so it is good, and that my source talked about an age younger than 7.
Regarding your first argument, a sociopath enjoys murder. Is murder good?
Regarding the second, there is science showing that it's deadly for people over the age of seven too, and is more deadly the less developed you are.
The rest of your arguments are just restating things I have already rebutted. You have not provided any counter arguments to my rebuttals.
