Description
Barney's first debate he posted on here, let's see if he can win again
Burden of proof is shared
Pro will prove that humans are the current primary cause of climate change
Con will argue against humans being the current primary cause of climate change
Round 1
Forfeited
According to National Geographic, Global warming is the long-term warming of the planet’s overall temperature.
According to the M-W Dictionary, if A is the precondition of B, A caused B.
*If B is already in place while A, A did not cause B.
Here are the temperature trends on Earth for the last 500M years. Notice how Earth has been MUCH hotter several hundred millions of years ago compared to now. Climate has rapidly changed in this duration. Since climate chance was already in place with much greater extents than anything humans have caused, humans did not cause climate change.
According to Robert A. Berner’s research at UCSD in the 1990s, Earth’s Carbon Dioxide levels are currently very low compared to 200mya or 500mya. This means that what humans are doing to the climate are miniscule compared to what climate has done to itself before humans were even a thing.
The Chicxulub asteroid (the one that killed dinosaurs) induced ~5°C of warming globally, immediately. If a single asteroid did more change to the climate on Earth before any humans even exist, then humans did not cause climate change.
Round 2

oh come on
Round 3
I got too tired and demotivated sadly, con wins
sure, lets go with that
thank u
Why post and then not even debate?
Ok then, billionaires who work and produce lots of carbon
I would say that calling Rockefeller and Koch brothers entrepreneurs is an understatement, ay?
Either you have a lesson to learn, or you made a trap. Either way, I suppose fear only keeps me from victory, ay?
Some humans contribute to it more than nothing. Celebrities wasting energy in order to fly their private jets are an example. Another example would obviously be entrepreneurs who work with carbon, those who own greenhouses for instance
Only humans which happen to pollute a lot.
All humans? Nope.
You're starting a lot of debates at once, huh?
want to go again?
