PINKERTON IS BETTER THAN THE BLUE ALBUM!!!!! (Weezer)

Alright. So which album is better? The blue album or pinkerton? 

Better is a word that can be described in many ways and can be too subjective to find concrete answers sometimes. Sometimes. 

Lets consider better to be something that is more. Synonyms include greater, increase, higher, and etc. 

1.  compare how each was critically received.

Each link above has a section titled critical reception. That is what we are looking at now. A 

Blue album received more ratings overall. There are higher ratings present for blue album as well. 

This indicates the blue album is more than pinkerton in critic reviews. Ergo better. 

2. The charts. Next we look at charts. Blue album is represented more times across the globe where as pinkerton is not. 

We are also looking for lower numbers to represent placement. Although placement is mixed, we can see higher ranking on the blue album.  

These higher rankings mean greater number of people received the album and played the songs from that album. 

Again we see blue album having more than pinkerton.  Ergo, better. 

3. Scroll on down to certificates. Now we see how many units have been sold. How many albums. 

For pinkerton we have 3 regions set at gold silver and platinum. Platinum representing a higher quantity in albums sold. 

For blue - there are 4 regions (1 more) set at 2x platinum, platinum, gold, and 3x platinum. Once more we see more. 

Ergo. Blue is better. 

4. In combination with above points, we need to recognize the truth. Weezer is a niche market band. That is ok. A niche can make billions or even blow the competition away sometimes, and that is exactly what blue did. Going beyond the niche to be identified as an album to represent a decade - the 90's. Which means the songs and album was well received outside their genre. 

Pinkerton is long identified as grunge rock. A genre that died. Although its songs have been well received over the years, it has not escaped the blue shadow looming over head. 

Ergo blue is better.
