Description

This is like a rap battle, but with poetry. The opponent chooses the topic for the other to write about and writes it in the comment section. The writer has to accept whatever topic the opponent chooses, but please nothing crude.

Voting system:
Better arguments = better overall poem
Better sources = better flow
Better legibility = better description
Better conduct = better use of rhymes, alliteration, similes, metaphors*

*poems do not need to have all of these

Round 1

#1
Kim Jong Un
A person, a person, what is a man
Who lived life for power, before he ran?
Power can raise you up to the sky
But it can lower your soul when you die.

As a tsunami brings waves to its tower,
So Kim Jong Un consolidates his power.
And as a tsunami destroys a town,
So rivals of Kim Jong Un drown.

Putin
My strong leader your words are my shroud
Your soldiers are your lions who are brave
Evil has come and evil is loud
We will fight it then send it to its grave

Your words and commands soldiers will obey
We defend holy Russian land today
This enemy will not lay fate for all
We fight him now and fight until his fall
Round 2

Britain
An island in the sea,
Tricolour flag unfurled,
Watch her ships sail in
That used to rule the world.

Upon the throne sits now
The king who rules the land,
History is always changing
Like an ocean swirled with sand.

The island favours tea,
Moreover, cold weather and rain,
The lamps of London fade -
Northern lights shine over the plain.

Con
#4
The Atlantic Ocean
The Atlantic Ocean, that Sea of Atlas
Amazing waves show power as they pass
Water that separates the West from the world
Watching such power the men of the world curled

Their ships cannot conquer its infinite size
Men race with power, but then bow to such rise
It conquers all and causes strong men to fall
And cover face in fear of Atlas's call

Atlas is he who human race will not rule
And fight against greatest only could a fool
They did build better ships faster, come and drink
If Atlas shows its strength, they instantly sink.

Japan at War
1940 - the country is at war,
Alliances and invasions which the allies all abhor,
1941 - Pearl Harbor now is dead,
Japan is fighting triply with France and China bled,
1942 - Doolittle bombs are dropped,
While civilians die, the prisoners are hurt in ways that can't be stopped,
1943 - Civilian deaths are high,
Rationing and shortages can kill the will to try,
1944 - the soldiers plunder on,
They know not why they fight except for patriotism gone,
1945 - two bombs fly through the air,
The war is finally over but the land is cold and bare.

Russia in the Napoleonic wars
Soldier must go to new land, gives his wife kiss
Thinks of all beautiful moments he will miss
He goes to bad land of cruelty and snow
Will he come back alive or dead, he doesnt know

Scorched earth, guerrilla warfare, people's war
Attrition warfare takes its ever great toll
And those who die are mostly the small and poor
they die to achieve one great man's greedy goal

What are they even looking in Russian soil
The freezing cold death is the only spoil
Was it a mistake or fate, it is too late
Former allies and friends now have shut the gate

And Russian tactics have the French defeated
Their military starved, cold and depleted
They are losing the war, obvious they know
Dont know whats worse, the enemy or the snow

And Russia won only because of French pride
And Russian victory opened the wound wide
Napoleon was not ready for Russia's trick
His whole world breaks, his time now begins to tick.
