I've been asking myself this for a long time, what does the past have to do with the present, if there was a very powerful king in antiquity, kind and worthy of being respected because his descendant who conquered nothing was just born with everything done must be respected and treated like a god, because a royal family is treated differently in relation to the others, by simply being born or marrying a member of the nobility I become superior to a majority, the people are the majority and still accept being submissive to a minority totally prejudiced.

The weakest part of this debate was the excessive use of profanity by both sides. I can't award the conduct point to either participant, especially when they spent most of the debate arguing about whose mother had slept with more people, rather than addressing the debate resolution.
I thought it was odd for Pro to start the first round by going on a racist tirade against immigrants. Con's response was clever, but I do think that sending five pictures of his erect penis in the first round was a bit much. Things were pretty even going into Round 2, but Pro gained the upper hand by somehow gaining access to Con's tax returns and mocking him for his student loan debt. It wasn't until Round 3 that Con fought back hard, revealing Pro's IP address along with some embarrassing text messages Pro had sent to his doctor. Both sides broke data privacy laws a number of times throughout this debate, so I'm willing to call it even.
The choice to argue Round 4 in the form of a rap battle was a surprising change but a welcome one. That said, Con probably should have stuck with his native language, since he clearly wasn't as fluent in Korean as he thought. Some parts of his verse were also clearly plagiarized from various K-pop groups. Pro started their verse strong but botched the second half by rhyming the n-word with itself. I think either side could have pulled ahead given a fifth round, but given what I have to work with, neither participant was effective in meeting their burden of proof.
Pov: I didn’t understand the topic but both sides ffed
I love your vote!
@Why is appreciation and power given to the children of Kings?
I'll suppose 5 random reasons for some people would be,
1 Government 'exists,
2 Inheritance exists,
3 Elites exist,
4 What is 'Right, hardens,
5 Blood and Proxy Appreciation exists.
1 Government 'exists,
Societies tend to have 'some sort of government,
Societies often prefer safe and secure government.
Tying leadership to a royal family,
Might lend toward preventing warlords and tribal conflict.
The King dies,
Powerful people might say, why not me?
But they cannot,
For leadership was tied to the bloodline,
The King's eldest son is the King,
No warlord conflict then. Stability.
. .
A course there's a problem if the son is evil, insane, stupid.
And various other problems. But problems in many governments.
2 Inheritance exists,
Chiefs and Kings often, but not always,
Had the power to pass down their possession of the Kingdom.
Possessions 'becomes oneself, in a fashion.
3 Elites exist,
In older times, and even some modern times,
Those with the means,
Have the time and ability to better train and educate their young,
Generally speaking, and specifically speaking in Ruling.
. .
The assumption is made that the descendent is better equipped than some others.
4 What is 'Right, hardens,
People get used to an idea, a behavior, a value.
5 Blood and Proxy Appreciation exists.
Appreciation for the King of old, can lead to protecting that which is connected to him, by blood, by Icon, or love.
We are in some views, our ancestors immortality itself, represented as a symbol, an item cared for, many times reconstructed in similar shape or value.
@NoOneInParticular
Why does the Chieftain exist?
Give to me, my fellows, power,
For I have the qualities you need,
Massed, milling about as you are,
You will not accomplish,
So give in to me your following,
And in return, be led to prosperity.
. . .
Course 'qualities vary,
Prosperity too.
Strength of arm, bravery, wisdom, charisma, intelligence, knowledge, ruthlessness, inhumanity, humanity, politics, luck.
Wealthy kingdom, many Rights, glad to be alive or Only the King wealthy, few Rights, Fear, but 'alive.
Not sure why, but this debate was reported. As far as I can tell, it's because it's unclear what will be argued here, which isn't a basis for mod intervention. The debaters involved can and should discuss the terms of the debate.
what are you arguing for
What is Pro and what is Con?
please clarify what you are arguing for or against and I will consider accepting the challenge as of now it is not clear.
So, what's the argument here?
