Description
Rules on the debate:
1: The BoP is shared.
2: I will waive the 1st round and Pro will waive the last round. They must signify this in the round. Violation is an automatic loss of the conduct point.
3: A forfeit is an automatic loss unless apologized for in the comments.
Round 1
I waive the 1st round because of the rules.
All guns should NOT be banned for the following reasons:
1. Banning guns will not fix or solve the problem-- it would be like trying to use a band-aid to close a gaping wound.
a., Man will always seek to develop new ways to harm and kill his fellow man. So the heart of the issue is a person's (or people's) desire to harm or kill another person/people. Banning guns does not "fix" this problem. The "gun" is just a tool they use to accomplish their heart's desire.
2. Banning guns will not eliminate the existence of guns. So as long as guns exist, they will be used, whether a group of people (i.e. the govt) says it's legal or not.
3. Banning guns will prohibit law abiding citizens from using guns to defend themselves against those people who (a) have guns and (b) want to harm or take their property (see arguments 1 and 2 above).
Round 2
It seems that your arguing my position. According to the sides of the debate, I'm against banning all guns, and your for banning all guns.
well there you go. My apologies. I misread it. I'm used to the one instigating and publishing an argument being the the one that is PRO (FOR) that argument. I should've read it better. My bad.
Round 3
Want to call this debate a tie?
Yes. We both win. lol
Actually I don't care about metrics, votes, etc. If you want the win, that's cool. I'm simply hear to argue things I believe in and sharpen my debate skills.
If you'll allow me to win this one, I'll claim the win.
Don't worry, there will be a voter who thinks your interpretation of the resolution is enough to afford you argument points, even though you'll precisely be arguing against the resolution as Pro.
You argued for the resolution as Con, why not argue against the resolution as Pro?
Great voters here.
