Description
Pineapple belongs on pizza, and if you don't agree, then you have lesser-developed taste buds.
Round 1
Forfeited
I thank you for this debate, even with your concession. It is already obvious that I will win this debate without needing much of a strong argument. And with the little amount of time, my format will be a little bit on the rough side. I'll try to quickly write this.
Beginning:
This is a debate about whether pineapple should belong on pizza; a controversial debate between many pizza lovers. My position is Con, and I will be arguing that pineapples do not belong on pizza. Whereas Pro will be arguing pineapples belong on pizza.
Argument 1:
Pizza becomes soggy
Canned pineapples are preserved in juices. Straining the pineapples does help decrease the amount of liquid that drenchs the pineapple, but some of it will stay in the pineapple chuncks. This liquid will seep into the dough along with the crust. "Mixing the acidity of pineapple and tomatoes is too much for some, and opposers complain that the juicy chunks make the crust soggy and disrupt the savory profile of biting into a slice." (Salerno Pizzas, 2023)
Argument 2:
Covers other flavors on the pizza
Quite simply, because of the strong and intense flavor of the pizza, it masks the other flavors on the pizza. Other toppings will be unrecognizable on your tastebuds. This can become unappetizing for your tastebuds. "The strong pineapple flavour can mask all other flavours, and you won’t taste the cheese or other toppings." (Review45, 2022).
Conclusion:
Based on these undeniable facts, it is clear pineapples do not belong on pizza.

I didn't see this but I disagree.
Chocolate on pizza would actually be alright. As for durians, I'm not sure. I haven't ever tasted them. Pineapple on pizza seems worse..
I think the better thing to do is just keeping the UI and revert the rules. Force-converting voting period debates into unrated ones just because the user was new makes it annoying, given that it was rated and agreed from the start.
Still better than putting durians or chocolates on Pizza, which both of these are better than putting both on the same one.
I could never agree with you more on your vote.
Pineapple on pizza? Disgusting.
It's quite unfortunate. I was actually looking for a head-on debate about this topic despite it being only one round and two hours.
In any case, if you do decide to log back into this account, feel free to message me to debate this topic for real.
There was a bug in the auth system, now it's fixed and the debate should work as expected. Please let me know if you find something else. And sorry for the troubles.
Thank you, I appreciate it as well.
Gotcha, I will review that whole logic, I guess I messed it up a bit, thanks!
Along with this, I got a message from someone. Though it appears it has the same pop-up as this debate has "The instigator is no longer active and cannot participate in the debate." Its says something a bit different but along the same lines.
Decided to let you know just in case you perhaps didn't know.
This website, under its simple and boring UI is actually quite complex and there is a lot of rules and checks all over the place, and sometimes things don’t work as intended. But I try to fix the bugs asap, on other sites it can take literally months. And that’s why I released it early in the first place, to fix the bugs as quickly as possible
Could be a bug, I’m sorry, I will look into it tomorrow
everything about this update is worth looking into and completely undoing.
He had a decent site that was slightly dead but capable of being competitive for debating and made it into a passive shitshow where he robbed us of the rating element massively
This is an odd one which might be worth looking into
This debate is posted less than 1 hour ago and the system has already considered the instigate to be gone.
Why does it say, "the instigator is no longer active and cannot participate in the debate" when I try to accept?
