Round 1
Go ahead. Tell us why its beneficial.
I. Definitions
For the purposes of this debate, I will define "good for society" as society being better off socially with the item in Christianity, so I will not discuss the effects of Christianity with the economy, rather focus on its social and moral impact as it is its primary function as a religion.
II. Basis of my argument
I am not here to debate if there really is a Christian god or if the Christian doctrine is morally sound, rather that Christianity is good for society.
The basis of my argument is that Christianity creates a better sense of community among where it is practiced. This can come in many forms, but for the purposes of the debate I will show that with.
1. The Crime Rate.
2. Divorce & Marriage Rate
3. Sense of Community
III. Crime Rate
Firstly, as Christianity creates a better sense of community among where it is practiced, then the crime rate should be lower. This is because a stronger sense of community decreases crimes as it is against fundamental Christian doctrine to commit crimes, and any Christian who commits a crime, would head straight to the gates of "Hell". Moreover, attending church gives people the opportunity to socialize, and a potential murderer or robber would feel more guilty to murder or rob a fellow Christian.
Here is a nifty article, explaining more on the subject (which also presents a graph backing up my views)
IIII. Divorce & Marriage Rate
We can also see Christian doctrine when it comes to Marriage, especially divorce. As we know, Christianity is relatively harsh towards tho who opt to cheat and divorce, and this logically has lead to lower divorce rates and higher marriage rates.
A person who is not Christian, or religious at all is less likely to have a happy and successful marriage, as the absence of Christian doctrine from it would lead to fights and fights and fights between the two partners. Moreover, cheating is more of a possibility among non Christian marriages, as there is nothing stopping someone and there absolutely no consequences for cheating on his/her partner, even tho if it may be immoral.
V. Sense of Community
Now, these two above points are what create this "sense of community" I keep saying about.
Marriage is the most important institution in all of society, as it is what creates a healthy line of lineage and is what creates and maintains a community and Christianity strengthens it, therefore the community is also strengthened.
Moreover, going to church seems to create a stronger bond among all those involved, not only that you most likely share the same values and beliefs and have a coherent value system. Furthermore, going to church acts as a ground of communication, socializing and creating bonds with your fellow Christians, who happen to share the same beliefs as you, and that is a luxury non Christian areas don't offer.
VI. Conclusion
In this opening salvo, I have detailed how Christianity creates a stronger sense of community, leads to lower crime and leads to a more productive and happier marriage and sex life.
Round 2
The Crime Rate.
Divorce & Marriage Rate
Sense of Community
There are no murders in Christianity. There is no divorce in Christianity. There is a sense of community as God pisses on us while we are cheering together.
We should scare children by telling them God will burn them alive.
Wrong, Pro. You shouldnt traumatize children. Children deserve freedom from religious oppression and its fear teachers.
I. REBUTTAL
We should scare children by telling them God will burn them alive.Wrong, Pro. You shouldnt traumatize children. Children deserve freedom from religious oppression and its fear teachers.
Firstly, I don't get how children can be traumatized from principles such as "being nice to your neighbor", "do not cheat on your partner" and "do not commit any crimes", I simply do not get where the trauma comes from that.
Sure, they are told that they will go to hell if they perform any sins. However, what's the alternative? The alternative is the existence of prison which children are also traumatized by. Sadly, there always has to be the existence of punishment to discourage someone from performing an immoral act. Moreover, the existence of the Hell isn't the only thing that discourages crime, as I stated, unlike in non Christian areas, where the existence of prison is the only thing that prevents someone from committing a crime.
Lastly, you have failed to say the definition of "Freedom", because killing another human being and performing immoral acts is certainly not protected by "freedom". Moreover, some freedom has to be sacrificed to keep a tidy, moral and secure society, it is the sad truth which you can't seem to accept.
Round 3
I simply do not get where the trauma comes from that.
Well, lets hope you get it one day.
Sure, they are told that they will go to hell if they perform any sins.
Masturbation and disbelief are not sins. Burn your Bible, buddy.
However, what's the alternative? The alternative is the existence of prison which children are also traumatized by.
Religious people are not fans of false claims. The only alternative is prison. Go to prison, buddy.
Sadly, there always has to be the existence of punishment to discourage someone from performing an immoral act.
Yeah, and punishment for masturbation is not to be burned alive. You are a wizard, harry.
Moreover, the existence of the Hell isn't the only thing that discourages crime, as I stated, unlike in non Christian areas, where the existence of prison is the only thing that prevents someone from committing a crime.
Its important to discourage crimes such as masturbation. Update your religion so it suits modern times, or lose it buddy.
Lastly, you have failed to say the definition of "Freedom", because killing another human being and performing immoral acts is certainly not protected by "freedom".
Christians usually have great definitions of freedom. Burn, atheist, burn. God hates fags. Give us freedom, Christian great mage.
Moreover, some freedom has to be sacrificed to keep a tidy, moral and secure society, it is the sad truth which you can't seem to accept.
Christian societies are very tidy. Especially when they dont follow Christianity for real.
I. REBUTTAL
First of all, let me debunk something; Masturbation is not a sin. What actually is a sin, is Lustfulness which is actually considered immoral, by all of the religions and actually by a lot of atheists as well.
Moreover, your central argument against Christianity seems to be "Oh, its so outdated", which it isn't. Christian values are simply not outdated as they are needed for a proper society to function. For example, our above example of "lustfulness". A society where lustfulness is condemned and considered immoral is 10x better than a society where lustfulness is considered moral.
Let's look at the US as a prime example as what happens when a society moves away from Christianity. The US, as of speaking is currently the worlds largest consumer of Porn, and a lot of US citizens have some sort of porn addiction. Moreover, we have websites like OnlyFans and Tiktok raging in the younger generation, and we have celebrity pedophiles being caught every day or so.
Lastly, I have previously stated, I am not here to debate if Christian values are good or if they are not, what I am here to debate on is if the facts show that Christianity is good for society, and they clearly do.
Round 4
First of all, let me debunk something; Masturbation is not a sin.
The Christians are not shaming their children or telling lies about masturbation all over the internet. Wrong. Stop lying, Christian!
What actually is a sin, is Lustfulness which is actually considered immoral, by all of the religions and actually by a lot of atheists as well.
Yeah, having wish is illegal. Fuck freedom? Wrong. Fuck you.
Moreover, your central argument against Christianity seems to be "Oh, its so outdated", which it isn't.
It is so up to date. Wrong. No one follows it for real. Not even you.
Christian values are simply not outdated as they are needed for a proper society to function.
If we dont traumatize children and if society masturbates, then society cannot function. Wrong. Go live in a hole, caveman.
For example, our above example of "lustfulness". A society where lustfulness is condemned and considered immoral is 10x better than a society where lustfulness is considered moral.
Lets all accept a christian definition of better. Wrong. We have our own definition and dont need yours.
Let's look at the US as a prime example as what happens when a society moves away from Christianity. The US, as of speaking is currently the worlds largest consumer of Porn, and a lot of US citizens have some sort of porn addiction.
Way to go, pal. Porn is a crime. Porn is horrible. Wrong. Porn is freedom. Update your Bible, or burn it.
Moreover, we have websites like OnlyFans and Tiktok raging in the younger generation, and we have celebrity pedophiles being caught every day or so.
Young people should beg like dogs to the imaginary person. Wrong. We dont need a retarded Christian belief. Christianity should die forever.
Lastly, I have previously stated, I am not here to debate if Christian values are good
We know that they are not good.
what I am here to debate on is if the facts show that Christianity is good for society, and they clearly do.
Show us more facts please. So far you havent shown any.
Your religion is great. No crime there. Wrong. Your religion is unsuitable and unsustainable. Christians dont even have morals, since Christian morals change all the time and every retarded Christian reads Bible differently. Go back to Israel and get nailed on a cross so you can be like your fag idol Jesus Fucking Christ.
I. REBUTTAL
Firstly, you lack to show proof of any of your accusations, such as "Christians are bullying kids", not a single piece of evidence.
Moreover, what you seem to be debating is the doctrine of Christianity, not if Christianity benefits society. I have made it clear, I am not debating if Christian doctrine is morally justified, rather if it helps society, which it clearly does.
No person with a functional brain is debating that porn is freedom. Watching women do inappropriate things with their body is not freedom, it is disgusting and should not be tolerated.
Round 5
Firstly, you lack to show proof of any of your accusations, such as "Christians are bullying kids", not a single piece of evidence.
I dont need proof for this. Its obvious to anyone with a working brain. Sadly, its not obvious to Christians.
Moreover, what you seem to be debating is the doctrine of Christianity, not if Christianity benefits society. I have made it clear, I am not debating if Christian doctrine is morally justified, rather if it helps society, which it clearly does.
Society is helped by traumatizing kids? No, son.
No person with a functional brain is debating that porn is freedom. Watching women do inappropriate things with their body is not freedom, it is disgusting and should not be tolerated
What you find "inappropriate", "disgusting" is irrelevant to freedom. Get it, dummy? Do you get it?
Forfeited
Sarcasm alone isn't worth it, but a pivot in a performance kritik, who knows.
You may. I do see some potential uses, like:
"One sarcastic claim" + "Explanation why the sarcastic claim is wrong"
Or
"Presenting the case" + "One sarcastic claim" + "Explanation why the claim is wrong" or "Explanation that claim doesnt lead to conclusion".
These are some ideas that I think could work.
Although, in trolling, I usually used the structure:
"Sarcastic claims" + "Insult" and sometimes "Explanation".
Then I might steal your trolling styler for the kritik idea I have.
Thank you for your vote.
I was trolling in this debate, and used a lot of sarcasm. It is an old debate.
I agree that sarcasm can be fun and everything. Its just that I abandoned it when I decided to stop trolling.
I forgot to tell yall that yall should feel free to reach out in any way if yall have any questions or comments about my vote!
I recommend you read my vote, or at least the notes for Con.
Trump says he is a Christian.
Your trolling is awful, but you really have a knack for comedy.
