  • The topic of this debate shall be "THBT the United States, currently, should declare war on Canada."
  • Mall shall be pro, and I shall be con, as per the rules of this debate.
Definitions
  • Declare war: A declaration of war is a formal act by which one state announces existing or impending war activity against another.
  • Canada: Canada is a country in North America. Its ten provinces and three territories extend from the Atlantic Ocean to the Pacific Ocean and northward into the Arctic Ocean, covering over 9.98 million square kilometres (3.85 million square miles), making it the world's second-largest country by total area.

The United States I understand is an organization or corporation titled North America in the the northwestern hemisphere if I'm not mistaken.

This thing exists, functions within the economy and commerce system to support the livelihood and lives of many inhabitants.

Being that is the apparent goal, otherwise there would be no civilization or growing society breaking into the so called United States, there's an aim , there's an objective .

In order to maintain as is, there has to be preservation.

Now to declare war is to make a statement, an announcement.

The statement is to preserve what is being maintained and there has to be a defense of it which would in turn produce a counter attack or counter war if you prefer to say.

Remember it's just a statement that people are prepared to defend themselves. When the other side continues to fight, a war is going on.

  • Pro's argument does not say why the US should declare war on Canada. Canada has not done anything to the US, and the two countries have peaceful relations. In fact, they are close allies. My argument is thus:
P1) The US should not declare war on countries that have not done anything sufficient to warrant such.
P2) Canada has not done anything sufficient to warrant a declaration of war from the US.
C)  The US should not declare war on Canada.
