RFD part 1/2

If this had been a one-rounder, Id be voting Con but that is also why 1-Rounders are inherently unfair to the instigator/leader.

In Round One, Christianm is trying to take the high ground, being very classic, trying to turn what is on the profile against Con etc. His flow is more boom bap than what comes in Round 2 and reads jarred to me (except the tetanus part) but it is still very decent.

This stood out to me:

"You're a StarCraft addict who lives at home
Show us all your profile: "Income: Unknown"
Drop out of this fight and go upstairs to your mother
No wonder Zach put "Life's Priority: Other""

At that stanza, I knew this is not a dumbass rap battle, this is gonna have humour and proper bars. The thing I loved was that the punchline was the profile detail and the yo mama incest or no-life hardcore i sults were the buildups, this was seriously fucking subtle and clever.

That was all well and good but Con hits back, hard.

Round 1 from Con was just as sharp and more barbed with what was said, not to mention that Con utilises internal rhyming as good or better than Pro (which isn't easy, Pro kept slipping in things like 'to your mother' with 'rity other' that in rap format in a typical American accent would be 3 syllable rhymes.

Con has lines with rhyme scheme and harsh bars like:

"Don’t quit your day job, Mr. Self Employed
You just wanna get high on fentanyl like George Floyd,
You wanna legalize drugs, abolish all taxes,
Whine about the Jews putting microchips in vaxes."

That makes you feel the oof fuck at the Floyd line and sets a feral, vicious tone. Read it to yourself, notice the subtle internal rhyming 'bolish taxes' 'rochips vaxes'. Certain accents will slur abolish to sound like abowlish and that enables a rhyme with microchips that is 2 syllables.

Lize wise high

Subtle intonation increasing flow across a series of 3 lines.

However, I feel Con tried to diss too hard on Pro being Libertarian as in using that as a punchline itself and went for a horrorcore violent theme at the ending but kept it only to diss Pro's religion... which, if we notice he dissed Pro's age is kind of uncalled for but I was okay with how it went, I felt a lot of oof oof felt the punchlines being mean.

The problem is that Con's Round 2 is saturated in repeats of Round 1 vibes and disses whereas Pro completely flexed how versatile he is.

This changed so much for me.

Con had 2 shots are flipping Pro's lines against him and the best he offered in Round 2 was:

"Can’t take a bit of smearing of your little ideology?
Looks like I’m gettin’ all up in your psychology
Oh look, how original - a Hitler analogy!
No wonder you gotta cling to Bronze Age mythology"

But the Hitler joke Pro made actually was original, he sarcastically called Hitler a Libertarian to throw back the ignorance of associating a Libertarian with all conspiracy theories and antisemitism etc.

It is actually is original and clever the way Pro even parsed the verse, left you think wait what and double-taking as the bar sinks in:

"Think I hate Jews, but who was really scared of them?
That's right, Hitler: the famous Libertarian
Here's some advice, I think you should heed it
You like Orwell's classic? Then actually read it"

Ignore ber vs lly

This was incredible flow and syllable sliding as well as internal rhyming

He took Con's disses and simultaneously pushed Con's ignorance claim back onto hum while actually dissing a nearly undissable aspect of Com's profile; how well-read he is.

Rather than call Con a nerd Pro disses it by stitching together a defensive sarcastic 'think before you diss' with 'did you even read 1984 if you are dissing Libertarians so hard?'

This links well with the following:

"Now that you been hit twice, maybe you can see
I'm doing liberalism how it used to be
Take off your six masks, can't hear one word you say
God can put you in Hell, but I did it today"

This is just defensive bars on defensive bars on defensive bars.

Six masks was a jibe back at the calling Pro an antivaxxer, Liberalism was a remark to the previous SAME stanza and even same bar itself (bar is 2 rhyming l8nes or an extended line) it is quality as fuck comeback material.

Con was sticking to a script of sorts and then went for the 'I fucked your mother'sort of typical badass gangsta vibe, the thing is, we need to look at the actual evolution here, not standalone bars.

RFD part 2/2

Pro frames Con as wasting his history major, being an all-round mooch/leech and htpocrite and out of nowhere in Round one comes up with this:

"Picture this, Phenenas; look into my retinas
I'll spit sick and stick you; infect you with tetanus
Just let this convince you, you want that acceptance
Depression will end you so start your repentance

I'll make history so you can write about it
And listen real closely, in case you ever doubt it
You read about icons; there's one that you can't cross
One day you can write the story of Zach's loss"

Which is nit that personal but is some of the sickest flow I saw all rap from Pro.

Actually read those lines makes you wince amd shake your head at how it comes off the tongue and lips. It is generic as Zach's later yo mama line so it doesn't net-harm my take of Pro vs Con

The thing is Pro starts like thar but then when given the chance to flip lines, his defense on defense R2 style comes in and he is actually funny, in my opinion. Serious wit comes out.

Con starts vicious but tries to recycle the 'haha Libertarian' angle by basically just saying Pro is Libertarian and it is dumb, he then disses Pro for whining in the comments section and yes it works but the most he evolves it into is word vomit which actually enables Pro's tetanus like to suddenly hold substance but fine, I do not need to be so literal...

I just do not 'feel' Con's R2 at all whereas Pro's R2 had me going wow that shit's clever.

Actually that favours Con in my eyes but I never base it solely on that and when it comes to flow, Pro's Round 2 is impeccable.

No way, I thought round 1 was self-evidently for pro.
Round two I lean towards pro as well, ultimately the rules are "no conduct points, just about who has the best bars," which appears to favor the instigator. I will likely vote later.

I believe you lost Round 1, however Round 2 is very up in the air and this whole thing comes down to a fine line.

Calling Hitler a Libertarian was meant to be obvious sarcasm, but I probably should have made it more clear.

This rap battle is fascinating in certain aspects, and I suspect it is going in a direction I was not prepared to fathom
