1. Make history
There are several benefits associated with colonizing planets, and the most notable one is that colonizing Mars will mark the first interplanetary settlement in our history. Colonizing planets will be the greatest achievement in human history to date, and it would likely be an achievement in our history that we will never forget. By colonizing planets, it will prove that such an endeavor can be possible, and this will pave the way for future colonization of other planets and the moon in our solar system and outside our solar system.

2. Technological advancement
In order to reach distant planets, we will need to develop certain technologies in areas such as: propulsion, powerful sources of energy, advanced sensor and telemetry capabilities, and cryonics. Once invented, and proven for space travel, relatively low-cost versions can be leveraged for benefit for more simple scenarios here on earth.

3. Economic opportunities
We could mine asteroids and other planets for rare and valuable materials; provide a new-off world market for many businesses to create products and services for; as well as all the supply chain related opportunities required to support this interplanetary trade system (vehicles,pilots,etc..) This will increase overall economic prosperity for humans.

1.Help conservation efforts:
With other planets to live on, our current “overpopulation” problems can be eased through migration to the “New World”. This will in turn also reduce resource pressures on earth through reduced consumption of materials like wood, and coal; less pollution and greenhouse gases to feed and transport us; and increase supply of land (thus decreasing its cost)

2.Save the universe:
The universe will eventually die of “natural causes” with the most prominent theories being around a “The Big Crunch”, or Heat death. We need to find a way to save the universe (and ourselves) in the process. While this might be billions of years into the future — well after we have evolved into whatever “comes next” after humans, the journey requires that we take the necessary first steps of venturing off our home planetIn

3. Improving life quality on our planet.
By pushing humankind to the limit, sending them to the bottom of the ocean and into space, we shall come up with discoveries in modern science and technology that will be adopted to help in improving life on our planet.

1. Ensuring the survival of our species.
As human beings, the only home we have ever known is planet Earth. However, history shows that when you survive as a species on one tiny blue dot in space’s vacuum is relatively tough and not guaranteed by all means. Dinosaurs are a great example; these creatures used to roam on Earth for approximately 165 million years; however, the only trace we have of them today is their fossilized skeletons. Their extinction was a result of a colossal asteroid that wiped them off the face of the Earth.

2. Discovering new life on the planet.
We should focus on sending human beings to Mars instead of robots since human beings are capable of making discoveries 10,000 times faster than robots. Planet Mars has several discoveries that are still to be made there, and one significant discovery that scientists could make is finding out whether there is a life form currently existing on planet Mars. For us to discover this, we shall need to dig much deeper than the current NASA’s rover is capable of uncovering. There is a theory that states life was spawned not from swamps on adolescent Earth but the watery deeps of planet Mars.

3. Our growth as a species.
This is another vital and vital reason why we should colonize planet Mars. By visiting and colonizing planet Mars, we shall be inspiring our next generation of space explorers. The process will galvanize a whole generation of students in our educational sector to become engineers, scientists, mathematicians, and technologies. Our aspirations to explore space as a human being are what help in driving us towards advancing technological innovations that will benefit our species in different ways.
