Drinking alcohol while pregnant is not a crime. A baby being born addicted to alcohol make some other guilty of abuse and neglect. That's how the law works. Suicide is technically illegal with people do it all the time.

Alternating the DNA of the fetus is not the mother doing what it wants to its body eventually the child will be born with an alteration. If the mother drinks while pregnant and the child is born addicted to alcohol the mother is guilty of a crime because the child is born. The child is born genetically altered the child is born. You seem to be confused about what a born person is and what a not born person is.

I will say this I think it's more  immoral to get pregnant and have a child so that they can be a donor for sick sibling then I do for a woman to have an abortion. 

It's not my fault that you don't understand the finesse of law. Up until the point of viability I don't care what the mother does, if she were to choose an abortion she could have one. So any endangering behavior that she might participate in really doesn't matter at that point. Once the pregnancy hits the point of viability where she could no longer have an abortion anything she does that could lead to damage to the fetus causing the child to be born with long-term problems is neglect or abuse.  It is handled as such. I have worked in the system a pretty long time and I can tell you in the 20 some years I worked in probation we never had somebody on probation for abuse and neglect that happened while the child was not born yet. So even though it's considered abuse and neglect and DHHR becomes involved they're still rarely punished by the law. So my answer is yes people can do what they want. But they need to understand that once the child is born if there is a long-term issue or a physical issue due to them having done something particular that they could be found to have been neglect or abused then they can expect to be punished. You keep wanting to bringing some type of morality but it has nothing to do with that. It's all a matter of law everything's a matter of law while there are times that law and morality gel and are equally represented it's still a legal matter. So if the fetus is not considered a child yet by law there's legally nothing she could do that would be considered harmful so she can do what she wants. If she's engaging in criminal activity she will go to prison for that regardless of pregnancy. I understand you want me to spout out some sort of moral standard but for me abortion is not about morality it's about law there is no reason for me to justify forcing someone else to live under a moral code that I might hold.

Until the point of viability no. It's nothing more than another clump of cells inside a woman's body. Like any other organ. And it shares some of the mother's DNA, it shares her blood and it shares her air. If she dies, it dies. It's not issue to birth certificate when she conceives the birth certificate comes when it's born. She cannot get insurance for it, she cannot get child support for it, she cannot get state benefits for it, it cannot have a social security number.

The thing is up until the fetus is viable outside the body anything the mother does that might cause miscarriage really isn't the law's business. Now after the point of a fetus being viable if the mother's engaging in activity that could damage the fetus once it's born and cause long-term problems of birth defects then she should certainly be charged for abuse and neglect. And this is usually what happens when a child is born addicted to drugs. DHHR becomes involved in the mother supervise and there's case plans and all that other stuff that happens when there's a neglect case. But very very rarely are women incarcerated for doing things that might be dangerous to the fetus while pregnant. 

There are all kinds of things in the mother's body that are clumps of cells. The heart, liver, the kidneys the baby's the same thing. Half of that baby is the mother's own DNA it's sharing the mother's blood and oxygen and food. If you really want to make some kind of point with me that it's not the mother's body talk about the half that's the father's but that doesn't matter either because we don't even know if he hung around after dump the sperm. And even still she has a right to terminate life support because possessions 9/10 of the law right.

No I do not. The unborn isn't anything until it can survive outside the womb on its own. Just like we terminate Granny's life support we can terminate the unborn's life support. The dead do not outweigh the living as far as rights and The unborn do not outweigh the living as far as rights.

I actually know a handful friends and family's kids who did really well during the lockdown. Many have anxiety or social phobias and being able to do school from home left them so much more comfortable they were motivated and did their school work online. My niece in particular was very non-social with us at family functions and during covid she actually came down and hung out with us during the holidays because the stress of going to school was completely gone from her life. She's actually become more social because of it. Granted she can't do big groups but she started college this year and she's doing great and that would not be possible if she had finished high school in person. She was lucky enough she didn't have to go back for the last year at all because they offered parents the option of keeping children at home even though a lot of kids went back. Honestly the only kids that might have gotten screwed were sports kids who might have missed out on games or workouts compared to the kids who were just there for academics.
