“In recent days, Trump surrogates and allies pressured Republican senators not to impeach Paxton, posting names and phone numbers of potential impeachment swing voters and urging Paxton supporters to phone their offices. Conservative activists threatened to mount primary challenges to those who voted to convict, as they already have against Republicans in the House.“

MAGA Morons control Texas. The monkeys can’t govern themselves

Imagine having a jury like this in a court of law. Hey if you vote guilty you are going to lose your job and people will stalk you at home.

The opposite of impartial.

Perhaps we should end the procedure of impeachment and go back to assasinations

Yes, by voting to acquit Ken Paxton, senators sent unmistakable messages Saturday — and none of them are good for Texas.
Their verdicts on 16 articles of impeachment say that a small group of hotheaded political warriors can intimidate elected officials away from doing the right thing. For lack of courage from all but a few members of the Republican majority in the Senate, we have a clear verdict that politics trumps right and wrong.

He's not in the clear by any stretch, there's still the federal investigation that convened  a Grand Jury, certainly an indictment coming there, and he goes to trial next year for securities fraud.

This was only an internal victory in a divided party, Republicans have hurt themselves in Texas, the demographics are changing and the Republicans are embarrassing themselves, the voters know they have only hurt Texas and they will suffer the consequences.

The Republican party is a mess, they can't even govern themselves, they haven't even tried to govern the country.  They ran on immigration, did nothing, inflation, nothing, and crime, the only thing they did there was add to it with thier very own Republican crime wave.

All they do is complain, Republicans are all about diviseness, they are only about divisiveness, the did it to the country, and now they hare doing it to themselves, I think Americans have had enough of the chaos of grievance politics, eventually they will see that it doesn't accomplish anything,  going forward the voters are going to be looking for someone to govern, and the party of Trump isn't interested in governing.
