The problem of war machine in Capitalism/Communism

The main problem is:

The bigger the military production = larger amount of money is needed every year to sustain it

The more military production increases, larger amount of money is needed to be paid every year.

If money is not paid, military production falls apart and country becomes vunerable.

However, if countries constantly increase military production (which they have to do to secure dominance), then there is constant decrease in the amount of money left for general population and that means constant increase in poverty.

Resources are limited and the more goes to military, the less goes to population.

it's true. we have a bloated military and healthcare sector so we cant afford the same social services other countries have. if you look at how much we spend compared to other countries, we have less taxes and social services, but if you look at overall spending, it's about the same as other countries.... our private sector healthcare if it were directed by the government, would put our overall taxes in line with other countries. our military is bigger than the next ten countries' militaries combined. our healthcare spending per capita is twice what other countreis spend. we have a lot of waste and excess in this country. 

The problem of war machine is stupid clever people.

Stupid clever is a tad ironic don't you think?

A big enough military,

And other nations are willing to make favorable trade deals, to be under the stronger nations protection or friendship.

Big enough military,

And other nations don't pillage your lands.

Giving money to one's own population, actually aids in military strength, at certain points.

If economy isn't healthy, not as much tax can be collected to pay for the military.

One 'can't increase the military if the country infrastructure is not strong,

Balancing act.

The main problem is balance.

When taking away from population to give to the military, the question is how much can be taken away.

If other countries take away more, you have to as well, otherwise you fall behind.

And giving to the military does help economy, but not exactly to average citizen. 

You can have a very large economy and very large military while average citizen is very poor, like in China or North Korea or USSR.

Because the main consumers become military and the rich class.

The poor average citizen is worker with low wage. He works, but he doesnt consume much of goods.

Healthy economy does not mean that average citizen isnt poor. It just means that there is money in economy, doesnt mean money is in average citizen's pocket.

Average american pays 4000$ per year for US military alone.

To some, that is higher than their monthly wage.

Sometimes very clever people make very stupid decisions.

Its mainly because everything is so expensive. Health services in US cost much more than in other countries. US military pays much more for same parts.

Thats the problem of tax.

Tax is used to pay for goods. Tax increases prices, so even more tax is needed to be collected to pay for those goods, which again increases the price of those goods, which again means more tax needs to be collected to pay for those goods.

Fair point that a strong economy doesn't 'necessarily mean the average citizen is doing well.

Though I assume when the average citizen isn't doing well, cracks often appear in countries.
