How far have the American people fallen as a society? I mean, things that were unspeakable 20 years ago are here now. This society is so brain-dead, so perverted, and the fact that it's going to get worse is honestly scary. We're really the dumbest and most twisted human civilization to exist at this point, aren't we?

Perverted is not so bad. I like pervert men .
-->
@ponikshiy
So... You like men who pretend to be a female just to rape women?
-->
@Rieka
No, I like men who are men. Especially old men who are perverts and I can seduce.
-->
@ponikshiy
Yep, you would do well in America.

@Rieka
Thank you

@ponikshiy
You're welcome, I guess.

1} look how much human population has exploded in last 60 > 100 > 150 years.
2 } Exploiting Earths resources only to discard 30 percent ---or more--- of stuff in to landfills and ocean.
3} Yes we have the Peacekeeper hydrogen bombs, that, were reduced during late 80's early 90's due to enough humans realizing how dangerous Mutual Assured Destruction { M.A.D. } was at that time.
4} so we stopped having near error alerts, of hydrogen bomb missiles being fired, when they were not laucnched, and we stopped having 24 hrs a day bomber in the air ready to strike USA or USSR at moments notice. Many young people dont have the grasp of revolution of consciouness in 70's 80's where more of humanity got on board with what many scientists from 40's and 50's already knew. Humannity was on verge of nuts with M.A.D.
5} then in same time period we heard about greenhouse effect > later global warming > then erratic climate change and in USA we saw these 15 years of new record breaking global temps starting in the 90's.
6} so here we are, humans buring away the trees for rancing in rain forests, overfishing, trapping so many fish and mamnals in their nets only for them to die on used.
7} acidity and warming of oceans killing off millions of years old coral reefts
8} If some young people in last 30 years have been paying attention, it is no wonder that some or so many decide on suicide. Yes those who know stock market know that pace were going the markets look good in long run to continue to rob Earths resouces for increasing human population who are greedy and ignorant ---partially because so many of authority ---most republicans-- are lying to them about what humans are doing to Earth/Natural World
9} when Saudis struck oil, what a shift we began to see in the world. So much oil, any solar and electric got put in back room in early 1900's. The oil boon was on and humanity was off to the races, to harvest and control be in control ---for profit capitalism--- world wide. USSR never stood a chance of competing with the free market.
10} There is long list of pollution taking place by humans on Earth and markets are the primary guide governments to keep being greedy, robbing Earth resources and to be wastful { keep hidden if possible } so as humans can only see the bright side of life. So much stuff on the aisles at stores. Yes, the hispanics have been seeing what the gringo's have for a hundred years or more, and when that wealth is not trickling onto their countries poor, those poor in enviromentally bad .' circumstances look north and see potential paradise compared their lives.
11} well humanity, in words of Davd Byrne ' how did we get this way ', where did that beatiful wife come from, where did that beautiful house come from......and that translate to humans all of the world who are so much richer than those of world have so little. It does not compute. It shows lack of compassion. It shows greed before humanity.
12} all of the above no win of humanity in long term, and with erratic climate change that longer term is getting expoentially shorter and translates to how humans going each other in coming years. Prosperity has to slow, and be shared so as humanity feels a spirit of one-for-all and all-for-one, at a minimum.
One Earth and one peoples. Or all hell is going break loose in more and more places. War is hell. It would be so much better for humanity not to go there.

@ebuc
Eh, the entire history of humans is a history of wars and violence.
However, today, they brought sexual perversion to a whole new level with porn and public display of sexuality.
If too much sexuality harms society, it should be stopped. Too much sexuality harms society. It should be stopped.
All statistics show that too much sexuality has negative impact on people.
-->
@ebuc
Take this, for example.
P1) If porn being available on internet harms children, then all porn should be banned
P2) Porn being available on the internet harms children
C) All porn should be banned
We know that children sometimes find porn at a very young age.
P1) If the only way to reduce the exposure of children to porn to the minimum is to ban all porn, then all porn should be banned.
P2) The only way to reduce the exposure of children to porn to the minimum is to ban all porn
C) All porn should be banned
As long as porn is easily available, some children will find it and be harmed by it.

- You are speaking so generically that it is not possible to figure out your topic.
- Name three "things that were unspeakable 20 years ago" that are speakable now.

I literally just said it was how far we’ve fallen as a society in America.
- Drag queens.
- Trans students being accepted into opposite sex bathrooms.
- Transitioning children into the opposite gender.
You asked for three and here they are. Yes these are all on gender, as that’s what comes to my mind first. I could list more if you want that are besides gender.

You forgot Mr. Potatohead and (gasp), the horror of a football player taking a knee.
I literally just said it was how far we’ve fallen as a society in America.
- Exactly, you could be talking about anything from the rise in Republican autocracy to the price of cottage cheese. So generic that your thesis was left underterminable.
- Drag Queens were not unspoken of in 2003, three decades after "Pink Flamingos." If anything, Drag culture was a little more popular twenty years ago than today.
- Most public universities offered gender unspecified bathroom facilities by 2001.
- The practice of forcing some pre-pubescent boys to live as females by surgical castration for a variety of political, sexual, and theatrical purposes goes back to Ancient Sumeria. There has never been a time in human history when there have been so few sex change surgeries performed on under 18s as the modern age and now those are almost entirely voluntary.
- I can't find a single example in America of a young person under the age of 18 getting trans surgery without the parents permission and all these cases are mastectomies for 16 or 17 year olds. Statistics weren't kept at all until 2012 and the numbers are still very sketchy. The State of California documented 2 cases of girls under 18 (both 17 years old) getting trans mastectomies in the Northern California area during the years 2015-18, I know many will argue that such surgeries are becoming more common but as far as I can tell trans surgeries under the age of 18 are still less commonplace than shark attacks. By comparison, thousands of girls under 18 get breast enhancement surgery each year although that practice is just as frowned upon by mainstream medicine. I'm not sure I see a scenario where that statistic is not a bigger worry than the very rare trans surgery under 18. Certainly, such surgeries are too rare to qualify as "Everything that is happening."

Do you realize you are talking to a 13 yo girl? Reika is a 13 yo girl.
-->
@IwantRooseveltagain
Rooskie, if she is 13, then I suggest you take a back seat. She is smarter than 90% of this site's members, including you, and she still has plenty of capacity to grow.
-->
@IwantRooseveltagain
No I don't check people's biographies before replying. Besides which there's no reason to believe those claims, anyway. Every previous claim of being a 13 year old girl on this site ended up being Wylted trolling for dick.
That would certainly explain why Reika is so ignorant of recent American history but the majority of posters on this site are pretty damn ignorant about recent American history.
If it was up to me under 21 years olds would not be allowed on this site. A debate site like this demands a certain minimum maturity level to succeed.

The fallen price of cottage cheese, really?
What the fuck does the price of cottage cheese have to do with the self-explanatory statement "we've fallen as a society"!?!
Clearly Rieka was speaking on the social-psychological level of humanity and how far we have fallen as a society on that fact.
Can't you read between the lines, or are you being unnecessarily sarcastic?
Do you realize you are talking to a 13 yo girl? Reika is a 13 yo girl.
She demonstrates more wisdom and intelligence than you do.

LOL! You're not one to talk about who is or isn't ignorant of American history.
I can't find a single example in America of a young person under the age of 18 getting (sic) trans surgery without the parents (sic) permission and all these cases are mastectomies for 16 or 17 year olds. (sic)
You clearly didn't look hard enough.
These are but just a few examples of biological girls having their breast removed long before the age of 16 or 17 years old.

Yes, the Supreme Court has agreed to hear a case that could alter the way the internet and social media as they are known today operate.
The high court will hear a case that challenges Section 230 and the security it provides social media platforms against lawsuits for content posted to their sites. Section 230, a 1996 law that helped lay the framework for the way the internet works, gives social media companies a legal shield from civil lawsuits over what users post.

"This is how it happens. Precisely what you’re feeling now. The numbing litany of bad news. The ever rising outrages. People suffering, dying, and protesting all around you, while you think about dinner. If you’re trying to carry on while people around you die, your society is not collapsing. It’s already fallen down."
"Herrington’s study concluded that society has about another decade to change courses and avoid collapse by investing in sustainable technologies and equitable human development."
"This overwhelming demand for a way out of toxic polarization is validated by multiple national surveys. Americans across party lines and demographic groups say “division in the country” is the most important issue facing them personally and rank “uniting the country” as the most important national priority."

- That's ok, dude. Nobody expects you to understand how figurative language works. If your opinion were ever wanted we'd be sure to address you with small words, short sentences, and as literal language as possible.

You’re a fucking idiot. Figurative language…nice excuse for your idiocy.
You’re so dense it makes obtuse people look fucking smart!!!

@TWS1405_2
Are you on the spectrum or something? There is no way a person of normal intelligence and language skills could perceive a literal attempt to change the subject to cottage cheese.You’re a fucking idiot. Figurative language…nice excuse for your idiocy.You’re so dense it makes obtuse people look fucking smart!!!
Here is a genuine attempt to change the subject to cottage cheese:
I think ricotta is better. In fact, other than a slight difference in consistency I am not sure what the difference between cottage cheese and Ricotta is.
Am I banned from Italy? No, of course not. They don't ban you for being ignorant, you need to rise to the level of criminal cuisine mutilation (pineapple pizza).
