I think this is really a hard call, because it is probably a call-out thread. I think the rap is fine, because insults like that are a huge part of the rap genre. What bothers me is the accusation of toxicity. But, is that serious enough to call this a call-out thread? IDK. Probably not. I think the community has indicated a desire for a laxer approach. This is borderline. I think it should remain active for now, and perhaps be locked if it devolves too far. But, I don't think your first instinct here was wrong; I think though that, after some more thought, it should be left open for now.

I was actually listening to Nicki Minaj and I got inspired to throw my hat in the ring. It was pretty fun, since I rarely write anything like that. I like poetry, but rap is really very different because of the musicality and pacing elements involved. Also, the subject matter was wierd for me--since it's invective-laden and egotistically-oriented. Usually my poetry is about nature or something depressing, lol. This was an interesting and creative experiment. Let me know how I did.

Nicki Minaj is a much more skilled rapper than a lot of even expert rap fans realise. She is among the world's best punchline-buildup designers in the game and her delivery is up there with the greats.

Delivery is an element not present in forum raps, it's sort of assumed and done via what accent and voice most readers read in, so that's why I stick a generic Colorado vs Philly accent as something in between that is a generic accent that an American reader will read in and most users on this site who would be into rap, read in that.

Your rap as a battle rap needs to get way more personal but a huge problem is that to properly do battle-rap requires us to admit we do mean the insults and do wish we could do the threats lowkey despite any disclaimers and in all honesty I want you to hate me that much and be that egotistical, I will reply in due course and give you feedback to your rap after I do so.

Dude, Type1 tore you a fucking new one in that rap battle, don't feel too bad though even if you hadn't been so new to rap he still would likely have won. He's an extremely good rapper that even I cannot out-rhyme but can outperform in other areas of rap. He's a rhyme-scheme specialist.

They are very unstructured with run on sentences and random lines that barely make sense. They are not that "demi-god" like

Buddy that is called liquid flow, run on sentences are normal in LITERALLY ALL POETRY. You dont notice those run on lines have interior syllable rhymes set up to flow it smoother?
